Little by little, Tesla is opening its charging stations to non-Tesla vehicles.

https://www.tesla.com/fr_FR/findus?v=2& ... ters=party

It's still shy for now, but 31 so far.

Fast charger, good for the road, and especially in number.

The charging standard becomes the CCS combo, for long distances.

Few commentators on this subject.
Yet there is a lot to say.
Let's wait for accidents, design flaws, ... and accelerated wear of batteries, and people being put in danger, to find out.

Wow...
yet another incurable to add to the list of perverts.

I was talking aboutfuture events which have nothing to do with past events.
Do you even know how to read?

What is certain is that there will be general fights at these famous terminals and it has already started.

A bit like downstairs when everyone knows that you know the numbers of next Saturday's Loto draw and all the others to come

Are you used to driving an EV on long journeys?

Because without this experience, it's so easy to say anything...

It's a bit like when we talk about "oil tanker" strikes, and we thus create a general panic, which causes the pumps to "dry up" very quickly, when in fact, if all the everyone played the game, there would be none.

Do you know why there is sometimes a wait at more than enough terminals?

Because we instill in people such a fear of running out of fuel, that they charge to 100%, and often, instead of staying 30 minutes at a terminal, they stay for 1 hour, and thus create "mini traffic jams" at the terminals .

If I'm doing a long journey, I don't take the cheap terminals, with all the risks that entails, and I already know where I'm going to stop, be at 20% at the finish, and leave only at 70%, which will allow me to reach the next milestone without any worries, and got there with 10-20%.

As for the charging speed, it has not increased that much compared to the onboard kWh.

For example, a 16 kWh ion, like that of 14.5 kWh, could charge on 50 kW terminals, and absorb a little more than 40 kW.

So, with a battery of around 60 kWh, charging at 160 kW is no more "harmful" for the battery than in 2012, and beyond, with better quality batteries.

To give an idea of charging time, with an ion, in 2012, we could charge from 20% to 80%, in 15 minutes, and 25 minutes, to charge to 95-100%.

So, you can see a bit of the “mess” that can create charging your EV to more than 80%, on a fast charging station.

With my kona, I charge at a good speed, up to 72%, and it drops afterwards, and quickly drops to 50 kW. When I get to 80%, I'm often at less than 40 kW, and after that, it deteriorates very quickly.

The problem is above all that people take an EV, without knowing the world of EVs.
There is no training on this.

People crash with an EV on a long journey, due to lack of knowledge and preparation.

Some EVs have a good route planner, and tell you where to stop, and how much to charge.

Not all EVs have the same charging curve, they can take for example 100 kW, and that drops very quickly to 50...

You are perfectly right.
Less than a kilometer from my house there are 2 terminals.
I've seen a car there once in 2 years. What a waste...
What worries you is the harshness on the highway. And it's almost a crime (like running out of gas) punishable by law.
I don't count the Teslas that I passed on a tow truck on the highway going down to the Côte d'Azur (and I go there once or twice a month)

This is unfortunately normal, when we appoint people who do not know "the problem", and just to set boundaries for the sake of setting them.

Afterwards, when you stay 15-30 minutes, you also have to be there when someone charges.

Since 2012-2013, I have been driving an EV, and even covered 400 km with a car with only 100 km of autonomy...

So, there are quite a few “idiots” who run out of gas. So, it's easy to imagine that in EV, they become champion in all categories.

It also comes from the fact that the autonomy is truncated.
There are always fewer left than expected.
He has a class action lawsuit against Tesla over this.

Yesterday I was bruised like a bruise.
In the morning I do a big outing in belly mode.
I come home at noon, plug in the charger but not the VAE part.
So after noon I go out to do the shopping. And damn, I have 50% left.
I still face the ground and on the way back with 10kgs on my back it cuts off before the big sick hill 5 kilometers from home. I thought I was dying... I had forgotten my cell phone to say come and get me : Mrgreen:

Cool, the subject is revived.
