Why thermal cars bother me....

by phil59 » 06/08/22, 14:04

Yesterday, on returning from "the old people", 2 thermal cars were racing between them....

Guys unaware, ready for anything, like doubling without real vis-à-vis their ability, solid white line, and when you can really double, they are in front of you, and you don't double, because their acceleration is not on top ... you can follow without pb, and largely exceed them if there were three lanes, but these thermals block me, respecting the highway code ....

PROVOC MODE OFF : Lol:

Hello,

It is logical given the proportion of thermal cars, that there are more who make the fools. but given the accelerations displayed in the catalog of EVs, I would be surprised if there weren't any who tried..., quietly.

Fairly ok, assholes racing on the open road I think has always existed, and I don't really see why the gradual switch to electric would change anything about it.
Unless the EV makes the assholes smarter or at least less stupid? There it would really be a notable progress to put to his credit!

This is not at all the meaning that I wanted to give to this post.

And this phenomenon will be accentuated when the "kékés" will realize the acceleration potential of an VE.
Worse leads, when they manage to hack the electronics, to unleash the possible power, in defiance of the longevity of the batteries.

When you're on an EV, and you're following a tractor, to overtake, you have the maximum power immediately, and in fact, it doesn't take long to overtake, and if you're not careful, you go from 50 to 120 very fast... but at the same time, doubles at 80 km/h, and you have a guy who starts from the low side without having watched in front, you get out super fast to fall back... it happened to me once with the kona, over 43 km, and you go from 000 to 80, super fast, something not feasible in thermals, where you crush the brake, and honk like crazy... (car with trailer barely traveling at 150 km /h).
All in "eco" mode, not even normal, not even sport .... There are quite enough in eco mode ...

This post is as I said provocative for pure and hard antiVE....

VE or thermal is the same thing, it all depends on the power available since the gearboxes are staged to do this!

there is no more anti VE than there is antivaxx, it is a provocation in both cases indeed!

No way ....

I have a 6S V24, 194 hp, and I can tell you that when accelerating, it's cat pee, compared to an VE, which has maximum torque from the first revolution per minute.

My ion, which is 65 hp, easily appears as well over 100 ...

So imagine, with more than 200hp in electric, it's a bit as if it were not far from 400hp, over a few seconds, compared to a VT.

I have a colleague who has a mustang, around 450 hp, and drives an e-niro as well.

For him, the acceleration is practically the same, but with a faster "take-off" of the VE, but quickly overtaken by the mustang...

E-niro and kona identical in platform. Kona, good car, but not a racing beast either, the 0 to 100, is around 6.5-7s ....

all that to overtake a tractor traveling at 50 km/h? This is not to deny certain advantages of electric, but situations requiring significant acceleration are not the most common, it is also necessary to take into account all the specific parameters of each engine.
simpleton
So why build electric vehicles, then "kyenhadpasyacentans"?
poses the question to politicians, more than to the builders who are subject to it "kyenayantyacentans"? The first vehicles, also a hundred years ago, were abandoned because of the same drawbacks as today, since they were dependent on electricity production and batteries, in favor of all-oil at low cost and in complete indifference to the consequences on the environment. environment and population health. Another time, other problems!.
The first prototypes of electric cars were invented between 1834, date of the first electric vehicle (scale model train) and 1881. In 1880, several engineers produced electric cars and, in 1881, the Frenchman Gustave Trouvé presented one at the Exposition Electricity International.

Personally, I have no problem with politics intervening strongly in this kind of area, quite the contrary.
Manufacturers to adapt, moreover they do, some dragging their feet a bit.
But it is neither Peugeot (Stellantis) nor Renault to decide what the French car fleet might look like in 20 years (average duration of a car from its marketing to its scrapping, excluding accidents). Their job is to build according to the general orientations decided.

Otherwise, "onfaitcommeyacentans".
