Hi, I have 2 photovoltaic panels poly and 2 mono 2 first 250watts and 2 others 300watts.
1 inverter victron 800va
2 200ah batteries.
An 40A charge controller that takes 12v and 24v.
How to connect.
MOCIE !!!

There is some information missing.

Voltage of the panels?
Battery voltage?
Voltage acceptable by the inverter?

Anyway, the controller will not be able to handle more than 960W while the panels can provide 1100W, which will be a problem already.

Battery voltage 12v
24 panel voltages
The charge controller can take up to 600w (12v) and 1200w (24v).

I had forgotten 12v inverter voltage

If the controller can take up to 1200W in 24V, it is 50A and not 40.

If the inverter is only running in 12V, there is no alternative but to connect the batteries in parallel to get 12V / 400 Ah.
But then it is necessary that the regulator agrees to load an 12V battery from 24V panels (some do, but not all).
Even if he accepts it, it is also likely that in this case, he can not exceed the 600W ...

So next question: precise model of the charge controller.

WHC solar
Model: whc2440cc
This is the model of the charge controller
It takes 24v t 12v.

Not much information available about this model :? (except that he does well 40A :frown: )

Since it's a PWM model, I do not think it can work with a 12V battery and 24V panels.
So, I do not see any solution : Oops:

In my opinion, it is necessary:
  • either change the inverter for one that accepts 24V input (this may be the easiest)
  • either change the controller so that it can convert the 24V to 12V (more expensive but it would be an opportunity to choose a MPPT model)
  • either change the panels to have panels 12V (damage)

Thank you for the link.

It's still very light as a description (and it corresponds quite to what I had found elsewhere).

You can wait to see if someone else goes by and has better ideas than me : Wink:
