What do you think of the profitability of this, that Tesla motor has just announced?

10 KWh: 3500 $

Get rid of the costs and trouble of batteries at the end of vi

As the batteries (lithium-ion and following) used in Tesla cars are very expensive and polluting to destroy at the end of life (where because of their weight / energy ratio, they are no longer interesting to be in a mobile half life), to their half-life they would become "battery for home" (where their weight plays a much less important role than in a mobile). Thus, one could say that the recycling of Tesla car batteries is 100% ecological. But what will happen some years later when it will be necessary to destroy these "batteries for home" arrived at the end of life? And who will take their destruction in charge?

do you hold that information ???? in my opinion, at the end of life the battery is recycled for a new one.

it would take a small calculation to see the price of the final kwh

it seems that the battery permrt to make a smart network so several houses could connect themselves to optimize consumption.

you do not need a heat pump or electric water heater

battery, cost of replacement not price into account in charges

Last year, I was interested in a Tesla and so went on some forums dedicated as: http://my.teslamotors.com/it_IT/forum/f ... ttery-life ou http://www.quora.com/Whats-the-life-exp ... -some-sort etc. But on the internet, some things appear, then disappear or do not disappear but become difficult to find.

Hi lessdewatt
In 5 years, lithium-ion batteries will be half price, see third.
By then, lithium-sodium would take over, for even less with equivalent performance

In 2020, lithium-air will be in production

when is graphene?

Thank you info.

Since 2010, in 5 years the lithium-ion price has dropped by 70%,

in 2020, will be 85% see 90% depending on the market

In 2030, it will be 10ans that the autonomy has gone up to 800km
and that the product is exceeded : Mrgreen:

It's not an invention nor a novelty

It should be remembered that such systems have existed for forty years and are called static "No-Break". Over the years, No-Breaks have evolved with the evolution of batteries, electronics and communication.
Given the prices, these no-breaks are very little present in individuals.
If prices are going down and also the fact that currently the batteries are really without any maintenance, a wider diffusion may start.
