An asteroid exploded over Indonesia

http://www.notre-planete.info/actualites/actu_2168.php

A small asteroid exploded on October 8 2009, over an island region of Indonesia. This explosion released an energy comparable to the first atomic bombs ...

The 8 October 2009 at 11 am in the morning, near the coastal town of Bone in the south of Sulawesi Island, a very loud detonation shook the walls of the buildings, sowing panic among the population. The inhabitants initially thought of an earthquake, the region being regularly affected by earthquakes. Then the authorities looked at the crash of a plane but without finding any debris ... Finally, NASA confirmed at the end of October that this phenomenon was due to a small asteroid.

The explosion, visible in the sky in the form of a plume of smoke, was caused by the re-entry into the atmosphere of a small asteroid about 10 meters in diameter. Under atmospheric pressure, the object from space disintegrated in the upper atmosphere at an altitude ranging from 15 to 20 kilometers.
The energy released by this detonation was very important: about 50 kilotons, more than three times the power of the bomb that devastated Hiroshima in 1945. Fortunately, the high altitude of the explosion caused no damage and no casualties.

With a size between 5 and 10 meters in diameter, this type of NEO falls on Earth every 2 to 12 years on average. Fortunately, this size is not enough to cause damage to the surface of the Earth, the diameter, or the critical width being 25 meters ...

Everything is fine !

Everything depends on the metal of which it was made ...

Good God's dung, uranium, plutonium?

all 2 12 years ... it's a real pollution. who cleans? who pays ? all for mobile phones?

capt Maloche, do you think that "disintegration" means complete disappearance, even to the element of the void, or else dissolution in its environment?

the article speaks of "disintegration".

for mobile phones, you have to understand me before understanding:
what are the satellites really for?

predict the weather?
spy on your neighbor?
to know where to go?
to know if extra terrestrials exist?
did you really walk on the moon?
what is the salary of an astronaut?
how much public money is spent on GPS?

which will you choose?

but I was talking about pollution, it seems to me.

The article does not speak of satellite but of asteroid which he also calls geo-rooster in the text :D : Cheesy:
