by izentrop » 07/03/19, 15:14

On March 15, 2019, econologists will be able to show their solidarity and their desire to see the temperature of the climate stabilize before it is too late.

It is possible to sign the petition if you cannot travel: On March 15, with 40 countries on all continents, we will together create a global strike for the future! To show that the climate crisis is a crisis! Join us!

Not understood.
Let us destroy what is left to destroy, there is no hope for humanity, right?

I notice that the econologists do not feel concerned?

The world is dangerous to live ! Not so much because of those who do evil, but because of those who watch and let go. (Albert Einstein)

I think you understood very well on the contrary ...

Then we can let the puppets or the clowns direct opinion ... it's not new in the history of humanity ...

But those who made it move forward, really, have never been of this class of people!

You are fatalist like the colapsos.
For now, you're right ... The future will tell us if the will of youth will be enough to reverse the asymptote of the curve, at least temper it, because with all that the oceans must reject for regain health, we left for a thousand years ....

In fact, there are at least 8 curves to catch up ...

Greta responds to her detractors https://reporterre.net/La-jeune-militan ... etracteurs
In short: There is no plot or puppeteer ... His message is clear and lucid: "panic".

People applauded warmly, but I'm sure when they got home, they had a drink and ... they forgot.
(activate the French subtitles, they are very well translated).

At the National Assembly, do not panic:
Ecological transition: the National Assembly against taxation of the air sector at this stage

The deputies rejected a series of amendments to the draft law on mobility aimed at making the air sector contribute more to the ecological transition.

https://www.lemonde.fr/planete/article/ ... _3244.html

Ok, multiplying the price of kerosene by 4 on January 1, 2020 would have consequences for Air France, but they could have spread the application of the TIPCE over 5 years.

As our Prime Minister says, we are fully committed to Ecology. We are accelerating. very strong, very strong, it's on : Cheesy: : Cheesy:

SNCF pays taxes on electricity, right? Why does air transport escape it ???

Perhaps we should remind members that an A380 taking off means € 100 in lost taxes on each takeoff. Yellow vests or a big strike to change this vote from another time?

are cute say so !!

https://youthforclimate.fr/le-numerique ... problemes/

With the arrival of Covid-19 and the implementation of containment measures, our social life, more than ever, takes place through screens. This is not to list the positive points that we give to digital. We all know, especially in activism, research, art, or culture (non-exhaustive list) that it is today a practical tool and accessible to the greatest number. Besides, this article could not have been done without the help of the internet and my computer. Nevertheless there are excesses that it would be dangerous to ignore and that we must take into consideration.

The religion of progress sometimes makes us forget the harmful consequences that our electronic tools have on ourselves and on the environment. Each of us has one or more screens at home: a television, a computer, a smartphone, a game console… and the time we devote to them is astronomical. Among other shocking figures, for example, the average use of a high school student is estimated at 2400 hours of screens per year, which represents around 2,5 school years. We spend time behind a screen… There is something almost hypnotic, we are constantly solicited by a notification, a new post, a story, a like. There is always something to see or do. And who has never got lost on the internet for 20, 30 or 40 minutes, before realizing that they had just logged in to send an email?

Mountains of data pile up when we share videos, download music, or buy products from Amazon. This data is stored in what are called data centers, gigantic storage servers operating 24 hours a day and located around the world. It is estimated that the electricity consumption in 24 day of a data center is equivalent, for the most important of them, to that of a city of 1 inhabitants. In terms of electricity expenditure, the data centers now represent 30% of world consumption, and if we consider digital technology as a whole, we arrive at the figure of 000 to 4% of world electricity.

etc., etc ..

Digital technology is also a formidable control tool for the State. The coronavirus pandemic has thus become the pretext used by many countries to test their new security toys (including in France). To read, the autobiographical book "Vivid Memories" written by the whistleblower Edward Snowden, which traces the history of the establishment of mass surveillance programs by the agencies of the NSA and the CIA. Another reading tip, the timeless “1984” written by George Orwell, a dystopia featuring a totalitarian society using digital technology to establish total control over the population.

So, after the health crisis we are going through, let's use digital technology in a more reasonable way, by limiting our use. It can be done gradually. But when we get there we will be all the more enlightened. The time we spend on the screens freed up, a whole lot of activities are available to us. Let's find our link with the living, let's play with our brothers, our sisters, find our friends, write, paint, play music or get involved in an association, an NGO to actively support a cause! ...

And if you don't know where to start I would like to highlight an initiative taken by members of Youth For Climate to launch a library on discord, where you will find all kinds of references to enrich yourself and enrich others!
