Hi everybody
I am looking for facing solutions for external insulation
(other than coating)
cladding, fixing by screwing or hooks on slats
Thank you for your answers
Isolated from the outside without coating?
good evening Sensei
What material is the insulation you want to cover made of?
what is your first (and second) motivation to want to do without a plaster?

It is for intellectuals, and all human beings, to get up, to write, to speak, to act at every failure to proclaim that the world that we design for our children does not deserve that other word: unacceptable , false, absurd, false and artificial, counterfeit and adulterated, fake, hypocritical, and frankly monstrueux.comme this site, a snub to place a pub max.
"Do without a plaster"
No, sorry, I mean "what motivates you to replace the coating with something else?"

to stay dry an insulator must above all be protected from indoor humidity
for insulation from the outside the cladding has no need to be airtight: it just needs to protect from the rain: all materials are possible
board
fiber cement: everit continues to make asbestos-free equivalent of the old fiber cement that was cement asbestos
sheet metal

Fibro-cements do not offer enormous insulation coefficients, so much so that I wonder if they should still be classified as "thermal insulators"... It's techno from the 60s, after that it obviously depends on the thickness, but there they are quickly overtaken because of the cost!
Moreover "for or against the plasters" external, the phenomena of capilarity should not be overlooked.

Exterior insulation with finishes other than plaster?
All cladding solutions supporting an offset fixing are possible: 10 cm offset from the bare face, with rails or long fixings for cladding in scales, strips or panels, wood, stone, or metal.
After that, everything depends on the desired appearance, the support wall and the price.

I asked myself the same question and after some research, price studies and evaluation of the difficulty of installation here are some summarized conclusions):
- wood (type formwork boards - the cheapest): easy and pleasant to install but very expensive in the end, especially since the wood has to be treated so that it is weatherproof and most treatments are quite polluting and expensive.
- a natural coating (more and more used) made with clay-type earth mixed with other materials (straw, wood shavings or even branches, vegetable fibers, ...)
- coated with natural hydraulic lime + aerial lime (1/3 2/3)
In short, you have to see the prices locally for each of these materials, or possibly if you can find them at a lower price, or even for free: old straw (that animals don't like anymore) or soiled straw at a farmer's house (barn bottom or hangar), free wood chips in a sawmill, ...
From tomorrow I can ask the question at my job because there is a specialist in the matter, but as Sim's rightly asked you: "what is your motivation?" (economy, ease of installation, insulation efficiency, aesthetics, durability over time, ...)

Obamot wrote:All this is very nice, but the coating has an essential function to serve as a barrier against the weather, protect the insulation, as well as filter / counter against the penetration of moisture / vapor and cut the wind, so I do not see no interest not to ask. But it's just an opinion.
The umbrella plays the same role when the facing is cladding. With more summer comfort due to the ventilated air space.
Otherwise, as other finishes, there are stone or brick siding, and all types of clothing.
