I fell off my chair reading this fabrics of lies... published on Google News which recommends heating all your rooms, including laundry room or storage room, permanently!! : Evil: : Evil: : Evil: : Evil:

My arms are falling...urban legends die hard!!

No Mr expert of my 2, it is worse to leave your heating on in ALL CASES! : Shock: : Shock: : Shock: : Shock:

Well, when you leave for the weekend, from Saturday morning to Sunday evening, and without a boiler, just with the boiler stove, it takes a long time to heat up the house.

Now that I have the boiler reassembled, I have 2 solutions.

Either trigger the boiler 1-2 hours before returning, remotely,

Or let it run at minimum, like to have 12°-15° .... and put the boiler on 30 minutes before going home.

And anyway, I prepare the stove to just have to light ...

Or what ?

If I leave for a week, I cut, and I put the boiler on from a distance, if it is very very very cold, to prevent the house from falling too much.

I don't know if it's good or not.

And I don't heat all the rooms, even when we're there. ON has half the house unused....

On the other hand, downstairs, we try to leave the doors open between the living room, the first hallway, and the kitchen, so that it is fairly homogeneous, and that the heat from the stove also passes into the hallway.

Yes it's long but that's not why you will consume more for warm it up rather than keep it warm!

For neuneus who believe in this bullshit it's exactly like saying that you would consume less in a car by maintaining your speed at 180 km/h rather than driving at 180 km/h then at 120 km/h then again at 180 km /h...

Whatever !

Except, if you just let it sink at 120, to start again immediately at 180, that's me for sure.

But slowing down to 120, for a few minutes, will of course reduce your fuel consumption.

But, lowering the tp of housing, 1H, to go shopping, it's not sure whether it's a good idea.

But from morning to night, yes, but not too much either.

All the furniture, finally everything in the house, also keeps the temperature...

There is no exception... damn it! Lowering the temperature even for 1 hour is A GOOD IDEA since what makes the consumption is the heated surface in contact with the outside and the temperature difference with the outside.

This is basic physics: at constant output, the more power you need, the more you consume, there's no need to wiggle underpants!!

You do not understand ? Let's calculate the equivalence with a car...I think the stupid will understand better...(it's not you I'm aiming at but the journaleurs...)!

Case 1 equivalent to keeping warm!

Drive 5 hours at 180 km/h, you will consume say 10L/100km...and you will have covered: 5 *180 = 900 km and consumed 90 L!

Average consumption per 100 km at 180 km/h: 10 L/100 km!

Case 2 is equivalent to reducing temperatures!

Drive 1h at 180 km/h, 3h at 120 km/h (at 6L per 100km) and 1h at 180 km/h...you will have covered: 2 * 180 + 3*120 = 720 km and consumed 2 * 10 * 1.8 + 3 * 6 * 1.2 = 57.6L

Come on, I'll add 1 L to go from 120 to 180 because I'm really nice... : Mrgreen:

Consumption of the mixed route: 58.6 L

Average consumption per 100 km at 180 km/h and 120 km/h: 8.1 L/100 km!

: Evil: : Evil: : Evil:

It's good zave understood the equivalence?

yeah but if you drive at 180 only on the descents and you slow down to 120 on the hills... Well you only consume 6 liters per 100 : Cheesy: : Cheesy: : Cheesy:

Checked a few years ago in thermal, on the highway, at 130 km/h, and from the steep climbs, sometimes at 90.

Even more true on an electric car, having 100 km of autonomy, on the road, and one evening in August doing 120 km... All the flat at 80-90 km/h, and all the climbs, when there were people behind, sometimes at 30 km/h. I returned with a good margin, although the last 10 km I had turned on ....

Okay, is that a little annoying?

There may also be an inertia to overcome, I don't know.

I'm not saying that to counter anything, but to know.

Does a calorie loss (I don't know how to give a name) remain linear, whether you are pushing it to the extreme, whether you are at 100°, or 20°, with constant external conditions, will say.

If you are heated by gas, or something else, with a chimney, cooled, does it stay the same, that, from what I've read, you should know, I think.

When you heat water, is it constant at the same power the rise in calories?

Not in all cases.
Turning off the heat in unused rooms in your home could actually increase your energy use
I don't agree either. I don't have anyone upstairs at the moment and all the radiators are in the frost-free position.
The author says he took his info on health+mag and what is written makes more sense:
it is not recommended to turn off your heating system completely. In this case, just remember to reduce the temperature by a few degrees when you are away. The ideal temperature would be between 19 and 20 degrees during the day and no less than 16 degrees on weekends or when you go to work.
https://www.santeplusmag.com/111119531- ... 8-11-2022/ This is what I do with the programming of my heat pump.
The slope of the water law is adjusted to obtain approximately 19° in the room, whatever the outside temperature.

No room thermostat. At night and in our absence, the set temperature is lowered by 3°.
In the case of a total shutdown, I am certain that the energy consumption will be higher, especially in the event of frost: icing, thermal inertia to be restarted...

Don't confuse things…some are already struggling… : Mrgreen:
