Pellet feed system on a pellet boiler

by fbedon » 15/12/13, 22:57

Hi everybody,
I propose the creation of a separate subject, entirely dedicated to pellet feeding systems.

I have naturally covered the forum before risking such madness :D

I have an Okofen, but let's not be sectarian, everyone can describe their equipment and their experiences, I have the impression that the fuel systems are quite independent of the brands of boilers.

Naturally, I am interested in our conclusions, because I plan to replace my 400 kg textile silo with its one meter screw with a large masonry silo placed 10m away.

Please stop using this term 'worm' which has nothing to do with the Archimedes screws used in our heating equipment, thank you for the mechanics of my kind.

So I try a first synthesis, I see 4 systems:

1 direct Archimedes screw
between silo and boiler, inclined or not.
+ The simplest.
- Limited seems a few meters, in a straight line

2 Unloading Archimedes screw associated with a closed circuit suction system.

+ The most versatile in terms of distance and circuit.
- Costly solution and quite complicated to set up
- Storage yield in m3 / m2 not very good

3 Direct suction by a mole system floating above the surface of the granules.

+ Interesting storage yield in m3 / m2
- Weekly monitoring of the position of the mole and the surface of the granules.

4 Hopper weighing a few tens of kilos placed directly above the burner.
+ Allows you to troubleshoot
+ Ideal for upstairs storage
- Daily top-ups

Has anyone ever mounted the third system on an Okofen?

Who has documented experiences of self-construction? (we can probably summarize those mentioned on the forum by inserting a link).

Thank you for your contributions.
Greetings
Fred

Hi everybody,
I have prices in nine of two systems:

- mole kit (also called spider) with suction from Domusa, for silos of 2 * 2m maximum base, € 2900 including tax, found on the right corner at € 2500.

- Okofen suction kit with 3m90 screw, with € 600 of labor, total € 4000, not found on occasion, even less without labor.

Who would have feedback and budgets to present?
