Interesting but still quite pitiful, I had a good laugh ... a lot of cult replicas ...

Sorry to sound like a messer, but being outside of France I can't watch. (How is the advantage of the internet to access everything from everywhere?)
Is there a youtube link please?

Thank you 8)

Maybe for the youtube link, must search ... anyway the link above will only be valid for one week ...

Summary: in large danger level this mainly concerned the fire in the use of polystyrene in external insulation (a firefighter is interviewed and says that this technique spreads the fire to the whole facade see to other dwellings in the case of joint ownership and he is 100% right ). There is shown the example of a facade of a completely devastated building and 5 houses.

This concerns ONLY polystyrene and when no fire barrier (in mineral wool) is made (legal obligation in Germany for buildings, optional for houses)

Other "dangers": the birds which will pierce the polystyrene panel to nest ... must then repair and reseal before the humidity degrades the wall ...

In short: an ultimately disappointing episode of Xenius which could have been entitled "The dangers of polystryrene in external insulation" so much he does not talk about other insulation techniques ...

I liked the reply:

- How long does it take to make the insulation profitable?
- 30 years...
- and how long does it last?
- uh, 30 years ...

> so much he does not talk about other insulation techniques ...

yeah.

very small popularization, damage, but for the common man, it is better than nothing.

ditto ... but this was said several minutes apart ...

Except that would you explain to me how a polystyrene panel can age? Unless eaten by rodents or birds but that would mean that it was fucked up ... by incompetent artisans ... or who voluntarily perpetuate their business ...

over there, there are a lot of really old livestock buildings still isolated with that.
if not, there can be a creature which makes galleries in it but it is rare.

if it is not exposed to UV or solvents it will last much more than 30 years ...

above all, it does not lose its properties even in the presence of water. (not in the water).
