How to enslave circulator with the boiler and thermostat

by owen » 07/01/12, 22:33

Hi,

In order to save energy and the euro.

My Wilo circulator rotates 24h / on 24h.
However my boiler is linked in radio with a room thermostat.

I do not have any technical documentation.

Based on the following photos: https://picasaweb.google.com/100683311555036819972/Asservircirculateur

How should I connect my circulator with my boiler so that the circulator is enslaved to my boiler.

please

Yours.

It is necessary to connect the circulator in parallel with the current circuit on the boiler, on the burner of fact, 220V current, him controlled by the thermostat, for example by taking the wires in the box marked circulator for the circulator and between the burner and the remote control to 868MHertz.
It may be necessary to put a timer of a few minutes to delay the stop, the time to cool the boiler a little ??

Otherwise it is surprising that such a boiler with beautiful thermostat, does not have that essential of origin ????

It is also possible to simply control the circulator on the temperature of the water circulating in the boiler with a cheap adjustable thermostat placed in the boiler which switches on as soon as the water is a little hot and stops only if it becomes cold (30 ° C?).

This is simple, functional, without the need for a timer and makes it possible to change nothing in the boiler circuits, just added to the simple circuit of the circulator.
Example of bulb thermostat, it to place in the boiler against the water heat exchanger near the heated outlet, even without circulation of water (or near the sensor of the internal thermostat of the boiler).

Excellent DD response.
I had the same fault at home, and I solved the problem with your method.
Be careful if the thermostat attached to the hot water outlet is incorrectly adjusted, or placed too far, the boiler can be safe at high temperature.
But this system is all profit, and very simple to do.

(bullshit of some Belgian installers)

I think this solution is the best, because the boiler experiences fewer variations and the circulator rotates the less. A stairwell timer does the job perfectly.

The, it gets complicated, but it is a plus (I want to say unnecessary, because the thermostat stops the pump automatically when the temp is too low (for example set to 30 degrees)
It is discussed, too much complexity brings problems.

The simplest electric is probably usable for those who do not handle electrical wires and relays easily.
I had specified the essential if not:
close to the internal thermostat sensor of the boiler

to avoid any lack of start-up the boiler too hot.
For more security, I would tend to put two thermostats in two places in the boiler, given their low price.
Personally, I double the safety of the boiler, against overheating, which is practically intestable for its quality and safety of operation (which scares me), with a thermostat of this type set significantly below the security, just for me to reassure.

Indeed it is assumed that these securities remain functional, without ever being able to actually verify, in case of failure of the thermostat of the boiler, him supposed infallible !!
A second thermostat mounted safely, testable just by lowering its threshold temperature, seems to me a more necessary security, which multiplies the security by a huge multiplying factor of the probabilities of failure as: (1-prob fault) ^ 2.

This method of safety does not seem to me to be reserved for nuclear power plants.

Thank you gentlemen,

If you have to explain the editing to a child.

Can you describe the steps one by one?

I am not a specialist and I do not know how to do it. :|

Already, the connection with the wilo circulator, I see no entry or exit.

If you have to explain the editing to a child.

risk of taking a discharge in the hands and body of 220v, with a chance on 100 to die !!!
http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%89lectrocution
So make the effort to understand a minimum, reading wikipedia on electricity etc ... is a minimum security.
Mounting the circulator is no more complex than a lamp on a dimmer or a relay, the thermostat replacing the dimmer or relay.

Do you have this experience ??

This is definitely the best solution.
