Energies2demain is a French association which lives only on the free time of various students.
Purpose of E2D
Eneriges2demain is a site created on the free time of students who all have skills in their field (s). So you can learn how a solar panel works, discover the latest innovations to produce electricity in a sustainable way or simply find out what will replace your car. We fully intend to let everyone know that there are indeed ways that already allow energy to be produced today without using our last resources. We also try to banish all types of moralizing remarks. It is out of the question to deprive yourself of current comfort, it is enough just to show common sense when, for example, building a house or even when buying a car.
Energies2demain started from a simple observation: at the moment there is no site dealing simply and completely with renewable energies without belonging to any political party or organization which could compromise the neutrality of its content.
The principle of this site is to make the general public take into account the various ways of doing without so-called "polluting" energies, to present renewable energies and to study them as well as to follow the news of these energies, but not only .
Raising awareness and alarming is not all, that is why we also want to submit probable solutions and help you in your equipment procedures.
Origin of E2D
This project was launched by myself a year ago here. It opened on Monday July 16, 2007.
Here are the main phases of energies2demain:
* August 2006: Launch of a call by Mss to constitute a team on the site du zero, community that we particularly like for its enthusiasm ...
* Current 2006: ... maybe a little too much since only three people stayed, the others having withdrawn.
* End of 2006 / beginning of 2007: A site structure exists but it is unstable and the project dies slowly ... Some internal tensions and a lack of general motivation make us react, a meeting is organized, E2D will be an association.
* February / March 2007: Beginning of a site which wants to be cleaner and faster, gathering of information for the creation of association.
* April 2007: The association is officially created. The site is almost finished and will replace the old one which has meanwhile seen its database disappear.
* July 16, 2007: On-line publishing of the site and publication of the first articles.
Our Team
After a year, three people resisted:
Xt-6: Editor in chief, he is in charge of the smooth running of the content, its relevance, its neutrality and its veracity.
Mss: He is also a writer, he occupies the same functions as Xt-6.
Bracor: He completely designed the site. It is he who is responsible for designing, fixing bugs and incorporating new features. (and on him you will have to type when the bug smiley site)
We also have people who have joined us:
An editor:
El Español: He is exclusively an editor, he will take care of the creation of articles and news.
And finally a flasher:
Francois: He will create all the flash diagrams necessary for a good understanding of the articles. He will therefore work with the editors. But it is not very available.
The association
Managing a site on a budgetary and human level is not easy, this is why E2D recently became an association whose president is xt-6. This allows us greater freedom of management and gives us a certain credibility.
Additional Information
E2D is freshly opened, although our teams strive to add as much relevant content as possible, the rest depends only on our members. We hope to bring together a community mixing enthusiasts and people eager to know more. It is therefore obvious that a passage in this contest can only do good to the site and therefore to our project. We are planning actions going beyond the virtual domain such as an online store where the purchase of materials on renewable energies which is difficult to find in commerce. Labs to make small wind turbines and many other things so that our visitors do not get bored.
The money raised by advertisements and perhaps by a future donation system will allow us to buy new ndd or why not finance small projects.
This year we had the pleasure of sponsoring (without giving money, just for fun) the heliosol prototype of the solsteam team which participated in the eco-marathon shell. An E2D logo was placed on the front body of the car and on the team's t-shirts. The principle is to travel a maximum of Km with a minimum of fuel. There are different categories such as Solar, category in which the prototype was registered. For more information you can consult the eco-marathon shell website
What was done
In no case did we want to open the site without a minimum of content.
At the moment there are about 40 articles available on the site classified in different categories and different files. These articles are classified either by a specific order given by their creators or by order of creation. In addition, there is a difficulty indicator for each item.
We have studied for the moment only solar energy and hydro power but with the opening of the site and the recruitment we hope to increase our number of articles quickly.

Recruitment

Do you have writing skills? Knowledge of renewable energies? And a little free time to devote? Join us ! If you are accepted, you will take the title of editor and you will be able to write articles and news. We are also looking for a spell checker who would skim the site and report any faults we find. It's an unattractive job, I understand, but it will be appreciated for its true value.
We also need graphic designers. Indeed, we wish that the greatest majority of the diagrams is done by E2D. If you intend to apply for this position, you will need to have a very good level of graphics, the diagrams we need are sometimes very complicated and can be very time consuming, so we are looking for people who can devote time to E2D. In addition, flash skills would be very interesting for us. If you are accepted, you will take the title of graphic designer on E2D. Then the editors will contact you and explain their expectations to you.
We are also looking for coders. Indeed, for the moment only Bracor codes the site. He can't take care of bugs and add features on his own.
Apply for positions only if you are sure that you can give E2D time and over a long period of time. We had too many people who only stayed a few weeks. Also, be aware that there will be no compensation; in fact the earnings from advertisements will be used for E2D (new domain name, increase in hosting size, etc.).
However, energies2demain does not recruit:
* Moderators (the forums are currently of reasonable size).
* Administrators (we are already three smiley).
