PM230: minimum measured power

by tuabiht » 05/09/07, 10:23

Bonjour.

A small question about the PM230 Wattmeter: on the shop website, I read in the technical specifications:
Minimum measurable current: 0,02 amps or 4,6 Watts

Does this mean that for standby devices that consume less than 4,6W, the PM230 cannot give power? If so, that would take away some of his interest from me.

Thank you for your answers,

You read that right and you just have to pair several devices on a power strip to fill this.

The fight against standby is obviously not the only interest of the PM230 ... it is also used to check the real consumption (in operation) of your devices, in order (at least):

a) to know the cost per year
b) optimize (reduce?) use

For those who don't know what the PM230 is: https://www.econologie.com/shop/wattmetr ... -p-20.html

Edit December 2014, the PM230 has been replaced by the PM231, more precise: https://www.econologie.com/shop/wattmetr ... -p-20.html

Ah, ok, thanks for the confirmation.

Measuring multiple devices on standby on a power strip is a good idea!
