Breakages denounce the scrappage bonus
The success of the scrappage bonus delighted the dealers, but not the scrap yards, overwhelmed by an influx of carcasses and who were no longer able to sell their spare parts.
Sales of new cars have surged since the scrapping bonus was introduced in December 2008. But not everyone seems to find something out of it. Some automotive professionals are starting to show their teeth in the face of a policy they deem unfavorable for their business.
"A new car = a lost customer"
This is the case of the Cass center garage which fears leaving feathers there. "Before, customers bought used parts for their old cars, now they prefer to take advantage of the bonus of 1000 euros and buy a new car. And, there we do not see them again for 7 years!", Explains one of the employees. “The equation is simple: a new car is a lost customer for us”.
And if the ecological data is an argument that everyone deems "important" - the premium provides for the payment of 1.000 euros for any purchase of a vehicle emitting less than 160 grams of carbon dioxide per kilometer - the garage fears for its financial situation. "We are well aware that the scrapping premium alone does not harm us. There is the crisis factor, not to mention the collapse in the price of steel. But we are not dealers, we are a junkyard, we let's not take advantage of the current upturn in the automotive market. If we don't sell our spare parts, we sink. "

Anyway, breakers are condemned in the medium term for (at least) 2 reasons:
- car manufacturers want to move towards the "0 (large) maintenance and disposable" car ...
- electronics prohibiting any intervention other than routine maintenance ... under penalty of "bugging" the car!
Look at the following photo and count the number of cars that are less than 10 years old:
But naaaaaaaaan, this premium is ABOVE ALL for the ecology ... there are only the naive and idiots who can believe it ...
