Consumers concerned about the environment can find help on the internet, thanks to a "comparator" on a whole range of common materials. In particular so as not to be mistaken about a real "green" car
In order to guide the user in his purchases, the Top Ten site (inspired by the very sophisticated Swiss site of the same name), which has listed 15 criteria that influence the act of buying a car: fiscal power, number of cylinders or bonus / penalty in C02, to which he added the pollution index developed by the Swiss Transport and Environment Association. This index, which has four criteria: damage from CO2, air pollutants, noise pollution and environmental damage, should enable the buyer to find the car with the lowest ecological impact.
In addition, Top Ten, which was launched on the initiative of WWF and the French consumer association CLCV, gives an assessment of Co2 emissions from the automobile and, great news, the sums that the driver will spend on fuel for 100.000 km traveled. The comparator also allows you to compare other consumer products: washing machines, televisions, light bulbs ... On the site, the buyer can keep abreast of trends in the automotive market in terms of sustainable development, legislation (including tax) in progress, and offers consultation of recommendation sheets.

I am still surprised to see petrol car consuming (manufacturer) 6L to 100 in the top three! Because 6L manufacturer is often 7 to 8 in real ... As well as the presence in the TOP 10 of the Audi A3 1.3 TSFI (gasoline therefore) of 125 hp !!! On the other hand, no trace of the BMW 118d, yet elected "green car" of the year 2008, see: https://www.econologie.com/forums/bmw-118d-e ... t5061.html
Finally "fortunately" that it is not only CO2 ...
But to take with big tweezers ...
