Ulm and light aircraft of the future

by chatelot16 » 12/02/09, 00:04

Hello

I apreciated the topic car of the future, which derails genuinely on planes

I prefer to open another topic to not mix everything and Michel Kieffer I look forward to your answer!

I have been interested in ulm for a long time, heavy aviation being out of my means

but looking closer with the ulm there is something to do and it could approach my means

I appreciated the remark that it is more accessible to an amateur to build an ulm than to build a car!

my precise question: in
http://www.cocyane.com
there is a nice project of ulm: we do not see it in detail but we see it in a wind tunnel: it is 2 place side by side: it seems strange to me: to reduce the power I put rather the 2 place l one behind the other to reduce the maximum torque to the maximum

otherwise the 2 3 or 4 place one after the other I will do it in road vehicle: it is even more obvious than in plane because no need of double command: the chauffeur is in front and the passenger behind do not have to drive

by plane the tandem must be a double command and it complicates a little ...

but I do not realize the true number: in this kind of project, what is the drag due to the fuselge, and what is the one due to the wings?

I'll have a lot of other questions of the same kind, but only one at a time

please

Hello,

I am, it is part of my projects Image

I seek above all the simplicity, a borderable tariff and especially deadlines of realization compatible with my crazy life,
there is a lot of information here: http://fr.groups.yahoo.com/group/foxpapa/

and a fantastic site that includes all known links on ulm, pro, amateurs, and more http://ulm.baliciel.com/

the simplest model is based on a formula Mignet, in tandem, the structure is made with ............... aluminum scale !!

simply great and affordable, achievable in a few days
Image

and it gives the most soft ULM, enough to have fun and share a flight with someone

The association can provide to its members practically all the elements to realize your POUCHEL II.

* Aluminum alloy profiles
ALMET distributor near you

* Interlining
Diatex
ULM Technology

* Engine
We recommend the engine ROTAX 447 (40CV, even used). You will find ads on Loravia

* Other
2 mm cut sheets
Cut styrofoam ribs
Composite leading edges and trailing edges
8 / 10 CTP rib caps
The tubes
Glue
Rivets
The wheels
The screeds
The aluminum train
The small hardware store
The drainers

Supplies list http://www.pouduciel.com/fournitures/fournitures.pdf Surroundings 4000 € supplies + engine.

AH, here are the characteristics of the Pouchel 2: http://www.pouchel.com/index.php?p=pouchel.htm

Image

One-seater formula H MIGNET with ROTAX 377 or 447 engine
Wing span before 6m
Span of the rear wing 4m
1m20 wing rope
NACA 23112 Profile
Surface 12 m2
Empty mass 150 kgs
Max mass 275 kgs
Max speed VNE 120 km / h
Cruising speed 90 km / h
Load factors + 4g / -2g

And it is possible to create flaps for transport, width 2m, to hang behind the car

Yes I confirm!

I was registered for the foxpapa mailing between 21 / 09 / 05 and 29 / 06 / 06 and I received 5241 messages!

It's awesome mutual help and advice, I had even posted some messages of a general nature with very nice answers (given my level).

I kept all these messages in archives but I stopped because it became too big ...

Yeah, they do not give pouchelec autonomy : Cheesy:

10mn as for the models?

Indeed, but I will see its 13,6 m2 wing surface covered with flexible photovoltaic panels to recharge its batteries on the ground or even in flight to increase its autonomy a little. And why not a larger version especially designed for this purpose?
On the other hand, the fact that it is content with 12 kw shows that the Pouchel with thermal engine could be equipped with the 4 time Briggs§Stratton 23 Ch which equips the Luciole of Colomban.

Can be with new flexible panels at 40% yield

it would make 4KW peak ....

insufficient to fly, can be to increase a little autonomy, or to load on the ground

10mn vouchers all 2h00 : Cheesy:

My idea was just to make the batteries run out a little slower.
5,5 Ch, it's obviously a little fair to fly ... Maybe a double surface would help to overcome it. But beware of turbulence!
Would you like to see a very Ulm helicopter? It's here :

Hello ;

Pouchel, I'm part of the clique.
Our last feat is here:
http://pou.guide.free.fr/connaitre/pouc ... urget.html

In electrical, a few focus flights, a static test taking into account the focus flights that held 20 mn has normal power of continuous flight.

Daniel Dalby waits a bit of good weather and tunes to fly and fly past the hour.

Pouchel II was too heavy; the Pouchel light has replaced it with profit: more efficient with less CV and more pleasant to drive ...
