Fear the Chinese in cars?

Transport and new transport: energy, pollution, engine innovations, concept car, hybrid vehicles, prototypes, pollution control, emission standards, tax. not individual transport modes: transport, organization, carsharing or carpooling. Transport without or with less oil.

Here are two Chinese cars that are not trivial:

For now these Qoros will only be sold in China but if it arrives with tests concluding other than what we have seen in terms of security ...

It will hurt!

Hi Alain,

I have nothing against the Chinese :) , so I look forward to the surprise;) ... View that nobody wants or can (between motivation and standards which closes the market) make a vehicle worthy of the name combining price with performance, if it comes from china and put a big kick in the anthill this can not be fundamentally bad ... Finally I think :) ... but I don't necessarily think the right way sometimes;) ...

That said there will be sport on the safety side, considering the tests already carried out ...: p the crash tests are going well ...

Hello Bidouille!

The problem is that they hire several very competent people in the automobile, and soon the quality will follow and the price will be lower enough to make the product attractive.

We have only to think of the Quad CF Moto which is relatively reliable and super well equipped and in addition a 5 year warranty selling 30 to 40% cheaper.

It'll take an import tax to stop them!

It is the shepherd's answer to the shepherdess! After having invaded the Asian market with our production surpluses, they in turn invade ours. Boomerang effect!

Absolutely!
And it makes perfect sense.
The Chinese have made impressive progress in all advanced sectors.
The Koreans (with KIA) have also made strong progress and offer products of equivalent quality or even superior to the French.

The concern is not the competition itself, but the number!
It is estimated that there will be 4 ... billion vehicles in the world in 2050 !!!
Currently we are 1,4 billion.

we will probably not go that far by lack of raw material and probably energy and even more problematic water. "and the fight stopped for lack of fighter"

It is even a national cause ... We can understand it with their pollution problems. :frown:

They decided to limit the export of strategic raw materials for the development of electric vehicles to finished products and complete sets ... Toyota has already filed with the WTO several complaints against China which refuses to increase quotas for provide certain materials such as Dysprosium, essential for the manufacture of their Hybrids ...

This strategy dates from Deng Xiaoping.
A friend of the Minister Wan gang reported a speech announcing that if Japan had chosen to be the world leader in hybrid cars, China had decided to be the world leader in electric vehicles.

I can already tell you that this is the case and that the rest of the world is considerably behind in this area for having abandoned research and development of the electric vehicle for 10 years.

The engineers who work today had to relearn everything because all the specialists of the previous research programs could not transmit their knowledge to them, which increased the lost time ...
It is a huge strategic blunder (a betrayal, to be honest), attributable to the governments of Georges Bush junior in the USA and Nicolas Sarkosy, in France ...
