Harvest of one tonne of used vegetable oil = 321 euros!

Environmental impact of end of life products: plastics, chemicals, vehicles, agri-food marketing. direct recycling and recycling (upcycling or upcycling) and reuse of good items for the trash!

Harvest of one tonne of used vegetable oil = 321 euros!

We just received the garbage bill with (as usual in Belgium and that's good) some interesting statistical figures (I scan them in the afternoon).

It's LeJuste and all the oily ones who are going to jump!

a) We are "beaten up" for information on recycling oils that must be collected and collected. Example:

b) We are told (at least in Belgium) that the cost per tonne (2007 figures) of HARVESTING a tonne of frying oil is 321 euros for the community, therefore financed by our taxes !! Yes, you read that right: 321 euros !!

On average and in Wallonia, the collection of used frying oils (valorfrit) therefore "costs" society 321 euros per tonne for a product which is worth at least as much because of its energy content! It is therefore a double benefit for the collectors!

We understand better the campaigns of "advertising hype" made by Valorfrit ... Excuse me but there are really some who are ... grease if I dare say! : Cheesy:

This figure gives 0.16 € per Walloon even those who do not eat fries (rare but it exists)!

But as you will see in the doc: there is worse, the batteries is 8602 euros per ton and the packaging (food of the yoghurt pot style) has a cost of 7.65 € / Walloon and per year! More in the scan!

: Arrow: Remind me what they make fries in Belgium with. :?:

In France, it is mainly with mixtures based on sunflower oil.

I know several people who filter their oil is out of use (in a funnel with a paper towel as a filter) and who pour it into the tank of their diesel car.

I tell myself by reading this post that they are right and that everyone should do it. In addition to reducing CO2 emissions from recycling circuits, this would lower your taxes (don't dream).

Well I never said the opposite, quite the contrary!

In fact by collecting the oils, the user loses 2 times:

a) by losing the energy of the oil: it is an "energy gift"
b) by being billed on this "donation" via taxes!

: Arrow: It's a shared concern ...

Put into practice for organic waste via composting.

On which I reflect on the subject of incinerable waste such as paper, cardboard, ... via the domestic pellet press.

And the short cycle fuel recycling "diester 005" that we have just discussed.

Well believe me: since I learned that the vast majority of paper / cardboard collected at the park to be contained was recycled in China, well I burn as much as possible (except plasticized and too colored) with us (in deom or stove)! Right now we are storing them because there is more heat needs ...

Recycling or direct re-use is the most eco-friendly!

So somewhere there is a "eco-logical scam in sorting"...

Now, when you see what people DARE to throw out pfff ... it's scary (mentally) !! Frankly, the last time there was a "slightly defective" pro scale: at least 5 to 10 kg of aluminum profile intact !!

Pfff ...

Mine is an ultra light 3 section aluminum reformed for "safety" reasons (a dent on the profile).

The problem is that most of the oil is not recovered if it is not collected.

Reading these lines too quickly, somebody might be thinking, "Better still pour my oil down the drain, at least I won't pay for it." : Arrow: not glop

Even if it means having to pay, I prefer to pay for collection followed by recovery than for the purification of oily waste water or other trash.

We agree Christine, but in this case it is better to teach people how to practice DIRECT recycling rather than COLLECTION, right?

Now we all know who benefits from the system ... :?
