250W lamp replacement by?

by Clay » 03/06/10, 17:18

Bonjour.
Which low-consumption lamp would be recommended to replace this one:
    Power:250w
    COLOR:3500K
    Flow:5200lm

Thank you for your advice.

Hi Clay, what kind of lamp do you have there?

It's going to be really difficult to find a compact fluorescent bulb (low consumption) with such criteria :|

Rather take an economical halogen bulb (-30% consumption in general than the previous generation).
In any case, if it is to grow plants, forget about the compact fluorescent because lumens level is not at all the same rendering as the previous lamp technologies.

But if you really want an answer, tell us all the characteristics of your current lamp, use, etc. : Cheesy:

See you soon

If econosaurius, this one except that it is in 4000 ° K: economic and LED bulbs

But have you forgotten an important criterion: the base?

Yes, indeed it is heavy ca! But it will never reach 5000 lumens with a compact fluorescent (at least not with the current ones).

If you want, we bet my electronic bike 8)

Within 67 € !!!
What is their lifespan?

And for the pellet?

Is the difference in lumens likely to be palpable?

15 h lifespan.

and around 500 on / off cycles.

In my opinion on this type of lamp, they should be left on for at least 90 min. And when you cut them, leave it off for 15 min before turning it back on. Otherwise it will quickly kill them.

Difference between 4000 and 5000 lumens, knowing that on average, a bulb of this type with a voltage of 20W is 1000 lumens and wheelbarrows.

On this scale, yes, the difference is palpable.

Between your halogen bulb and the megaman of 4000 lumens, difficult to say with the naked eye because the compact fluorescents and the halogens do not give the same rendering of light. Must try, it would be a good experience. I have one at work, I tell you that tomorrow.

Bonne chance.

(it would be really easier if you said what type of room you would like to light)

E40 = exterior ballast. It's pro and it's necessarily expensive.

There is an E40 model in 80W, 100 and 120W (I think) at Megaman, these are the big brothers of the bulb above ... the 80W is worth more € 120 it seems to me without the ballast.

Changing the base to go to E27 will be much cheaper ... IMHO if the lumen drop is not too great that's what to do ...
