Estimation of the electrical consumption of a building

by fbertran » 24/05/09, 16:40

Hello, as part of a renovation project, we want to size a micro-cogeneration and a photovoltaic installation.

We know all the powers of electrical installations (lighting, ventilation, etc.) as well as our usage scenarios. How to get an idea of the building's annual energy consumption?

Thank you

You don't have a choice, you'll have to do a little math.
Lighting is super simple.
Fridges, stoves, washing machines, it is more complex since these devices do not have a continuous mode. Order a PM230 on econologie.com https://www.econologie.com/shop/wattmetr ... -p-20.html and measures the cycles of each device.
An excel table, a correlation with readings on your current home, and presto!
In general, an "ordinary" (comfortable) home, inhabited by 4 people consumes around 4 MWh / year, this can go up to 8 MWh / year if there is an electric boiler, electric stove, freezer, etc ...
This figure does not include heating.
Count 9 to 10 KWh / night for the boiler.
