Reload 2V 12 1 batteries in series with one charger?

by Christophe » 06/03/09, 14:54

Question electricity of the day: is it possible to recharge 2 batteries 12V series-mounted with 1 single charger 12V without blasting the batteries?

The problem is that the + of one = - of the other.

By putting a big diode between 2 could it work? : Idea: :?:

Bonjour Christophe

No, unfortunately it will not work, you have to load them separately or you have the right 24 volt charger.

Sorry!

Hello Xtof,

The only solution: a small boost converter.
And no need to filter in pulses it works better!
(Tune-charging principle) NOT on the head !! : Mrgreen:

It will cost him more than a simple charger.

Uh, are you sure of this Phillippe?

There I use a charger with optimized load curve (pulse) I doubt he appreciates the setting in serie ...

Then leave to buy 2 loader 12V as much to take a 24V ... no?

Christophe

After having thought well.
Here is a simple schemas that I 've done to solve your little problem, with only a double contact / double poles switch.
In closed mode the mode is 24 volts and open mode in 12 volts
