It's a first!
GSM is carcinogenic
THE FIRST RESULTS of the largest epidemiological survey ever conducted to date confirm that in the long term, the mobile phone is harmful to health. Worrisome results that have yet to be confirmed. The carcinogenic risk would be "significantly increased" for those who have used a mobile phone for more than ten years.
The use of GSM can harm health ”This shortcut now seems to be further supported by the partial publication of new results from the Interphone study (1). Conducted by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), the study, conducted in thirteen industrialized countries, establishes the relationship between certain tumors and the regular use of mobile phones. These synthetic results, which must be confirmed and qualified in light of certain probable biases, are important. Using a common protocol to study four main types of cancer, Interphone is the largest epidemiological study to date on the subject.
Some 2.600 cases of gliomas, 2.300 meningiomas, 1.100 acoustic neuromas and 400 parotid gland tumors were considered in this panel, which does not include Belgium. Regarding glioma, the brain cancer for which the risk factor for mortality is highest, the study notes that "the pooling of data from the Scandinavian countries and part of the United Kingdom has made it possible to identify a significantly increased risk of glioma in relation to the use of mobile phones for a period of 10 years or more, on the side of the head where the tumor has grown ”. According to the summary of results, the probability of developing such a cancer is up to 60% higher in the Scandinavian countries, almost 100% in France and 120% in Germany for users over ten years old.
