Self-cutting power strip

by the middle » 18/09/08, 16:51

:? Hi tertous,
I often forget to turn off the switch on my power strips in the evening or during the day when I go shopping.
So, I would like a power strip, which cuts off after say 10 minutes, in the event of low current consumption.
The level of this low consumption should be adjustable of course.
I'm counting on you to make this, and sell it to me at a friend's price.
Thank you in advance.
No, joking around, I guess this kind of plug doesn't exist?

It does not exist for the simple reason that "weak" current does not mean much. Even brenenstuhl which makes power strips at 300 € each does not offer one!

In fact it would require an adjustable current detector (threshold) (because your watch will not be the same as mine) ...

In addition, it would require a low current AND a small variation (and again) to be sure not to make a false positive.

You will be quicker to use this I think (without advertising but still a little): https://www.econologie.com/shop/multipri ... p-146.html

There is something else: it is a multi slave master plug (s) that cuts and turns on the escalve (s) when the master is switched off or on but the master always remains powered up in standby. It is therefore less economical than the 4-switch multiple socket that we also offer: https://www.econologie.com/shop/multipri ... -p-60.html

Yes, that's what I said ... you need an adjustable current detector.
The power strip of my hi-fi corner, is always 25 watt in standby; ok it's not a current, it's a power, but the principle is identical.
I have an infrared detector in my bathroom, when I make my popo too long, the lamp goes out ... : Cheesy:

It's because you don't move enough when you poop !! :D

For the current threshold it is a problem of measurement accuracy I think ... now it may be I do not know everything either huh!

Hi fair

I propose a motion detector.

If you stop thinking for too long .... :)
everything cuts.

as a bonus,
increased movement
would be beneficial to brain activity.

what will happen when it does :)

There are master / slave sockets .... but it is a scam: the consumption of this system is not negligible in standby: 9 W on those I had bought from Pearl!

So the gain is quickly canceled !! => 9 W continuously, that's a lot to be supposed to save money :-(

But beware: the descriptions never give the actual consumption of the bar itself, it's a shame!

For those who want it anyway, I sell 2 :-)
