Consumption of a very low Wii, good point for nintendo

Hi-tech electronic and computer equipment and Internet. Better use of electricity, help with the work and specifications, equipment selection. Presentations fixtures and plans. Waves and electromagnetic pollution.

Consumption of a very low Wii, good point for nintendo

Apparently the power consumption of the Nintendo Wii is strangely low (less than 20W max!). Example with a "game":

I wonder how nintendo did well to make such a low consumption ...

Especially knowing that a HP printer "off" consumes 9 to 10W... : Evil:

The Wii is not really powerful compared to the PS3 or the X360. Its only advantage is its wiimote + nunchuk control system.
It is therefore normal that its consumption is lower.
It is in any case a good point for her.

1) The Wii is not powerful certainly, but it is much more powerful than the PCs of a few years ago ... and I have never known a PC consuming less than 100W ingame (except some laptops). ..

2) Yes Hasardine, except that for a PS3 and an XBox360 you also need one so it is added. An average current LCD TV consumes 150W all the same .... much more than an average PC screen, let's say, a 19 inch that consumes in the 30 to 50W range.

In the comparison I think that they did not take into account the consumption of the screen for the PC ...

it would be interesting to have a comparison of consumption between tube TV and the LCD!

do we have that?

Almost, we have it for PC screens: https://www.econologie.com/forums/comparatif ... t3610.html

Attention it does not concern PLASMA which consume more than LCD ... but which are more and more rare too ...

As electrical consumption seems to interest you, do you have your PM from our shop? : Cheesy: If it is there: https://www.econologie.com/shop/economet ... prise.html

The WII has been strongly criticized by Greenpeace for these highly polluting components like the other consoles. So they may well have made an effort on electricity consumption.
