I disassembled an old TV screen, where the panel is out of order, and for the backlight, there are CCFL tubes.

What to do with CCFL tubes?

First of all, high voltage. There are 16 in it, and must be + - 60 cm.

Otherwise, I tell myself that there must be interesting components on the control board ....

If the panel is HS, there's no way to know if they work (in principle ... yes)

Put an ad in “lgood place” (but watch out for transport...)

They work, I broke the slab by clumsiness ....

I was talking about reusing them to do other things....

It's like a compact fluorescent tube that contains mercury vapor. They have to be taken back to the stores for decontamination. I never understood why it settles in cardboard boxes without precaution. There is a risk of breakage and the toxic gas spreading in a room crowded with people.
Unclear regulations https://controverses.sciences-po.fr/arc ... index.html

Otherwise you have to find the very high voltage power supply that goes with it. Not easy to find at an affordable price?... must their power also be indicated on the tube?

Current TVs are equipped with LED strips. I replaced those of our TV, which had been given to me.

You're not answering his question...are the tubes working?

Here is an idea, which could please Madame.... must be said that she is in despair, in front of all that I keep... In case .... things of moral "value", because it is irretrievable for me...

To his great relief, I had some car wrecks removed, which I used to the end .... (in 3 years).

Going back to the tubes, it may work for 15 minutes a day, and on a consumption of around 10 kWh per year, it will not be seen.
Yes I know it's way too much.

But for 20 years, it has always remained in the m ^ my ranges. There was a slight drop when I had turned 95% of the filament bulbs, but today, even in the cellar, it's led....

So on the slab, I took off, with the help of a hair dryer and a "hill" to coat, the darker side, relatively very well. Looks like there was some kind of oil between the 2 surfaces.

The other side, though, hard, hard, the side that has about the same texture and opacity as an x-ray.

The slab breaks, and I damaged the sides of the film a little, and not finished ... I think to throw it in the direct dech.

I wonder if it's good to use these tubes ....
