#Facebookdown: big "blackout" of Facebook network sites on October 4, 2021

Another facebook danger it is the interdependence of networks. The whole facebook network is down !! Facebook, instagram, whatsapp and facebook messenger are kaput right now!

+ certainly the millions of small sites managed by morons webmasters who use the facebook login as login id!

Divided from: society-and-philosophy / the-danger-facebook-and-social-networks-t6650.html because the failure is very serious (the DNS have been deleted despite dozens of redundancies ...) and seems to continue (we are talking about a rumor of 6 days of downtime on Twitter ...)

Here is the list of HS services ...

Nah nah nah we do not redo the blow of the failure given the redundancies of such a network (the FB network must have more than 500 servers on dozens of datacenters in the world with dozens of redundancies!) ... c is a hack or a huge internal bug ...

According to several specialists, the failure is linked to a problem with DNS (Domain Name System), a digital "directory" essential for an easily remembered domain name - for example Facebook.com - can actually refer to the site address. requested, which actually takes the form of a string of numbers called the IP address

“Around 15:50 pm, Facebook stopped sending its IPs to the rest of the world. As a result, the DNS servers are no longer accessible by the operators, and therefore the translation of the domain name to the IP address can no longer be done. This leads to the inaccessibility everywhere in the world of Facebook services (Facebook, Instagram, What'sApp) "summarizes Cécile Morange, network technician, with BFMTV.

By analogy, the Internet's DNS system can be likened to a GPS matching a postal address to geographic coordinates. In the case of Facebook, the failure could then be seen as the disappearance of the geographic coordinates of a place, thus becoming untraceable by mapping systems.

The action in free fall since the opening ... well before the "blackout" (around 18 p.m. French time):

Some say it was already down this morning:
