Need advice ...

by Exceed » 02/02/06, 08:47

Hello,
I explain my worries .... not very big!
I have a small alarm, with a small buzzer the size of a € 1 coin, the + Bz is connected to the 5V power supply, the command is sent to the -Bz => Bz = 5V no alarm, Bz = 0 biiiiiiippppp !!!
(the + Bz and the -Bz are the buzzer pins)
My question: Can I remove the buzzer and order a micro-relay instead (if it exists! If yes, where?)
On the -Bz control, there is a chip transistor between the IC and the buzzer, which should be used for 0 / 5V ... switching or mounted as a follower?
Thanks in advance .... I know it's a little simplistic for you but I do not know "all the new components".
A + Serge.
The object of this modification is to allow me to modify a T ° indicator with alarm, in regulation circuit of T ° with display of 2 values, instant T ° and T ° of alarm .... For the use VBF ....

Yes the transistor is an NPN and it is used to drive the buzzer.

The question is whether the buzzer contains internally are oscillator or if it's a simple piezo (in which case the IC sends a square signal on the transistor)

From what you say, it would be a buzzer, and you can actually put a little relay, but the problem is to find a relay 5V that consumes little. And you should not forget the freewheel diode across the relay coil, otherwise you grid the transistor when you release the relay control.
