Hard disk, size or memory size for battery?

by screens » 08/06/13, 09:31

Hello, I am trying to compare two battery packs of the same price that are both Toshiba. Most of their functionality is equal apart from the mentioned
Laptop A has 500GB hard drive, but only 2GB memory
for laptop Battery Toshiba Tecra R10-S4401

While B has a 320 GB hard drive and 4 GB of memory.
I just want to know which one would be better for everyday use, and if it is cheaper to update the memory size or buy an extra external hard drive? THANK YOU!

it is 2 given completely different

the ram allows complicated programs to run faster, like CAD ... for simple programs we do not see the difference between 2GB and 4GB

the hard drive is to put a lot of data: you are the only one who knows what you want to put there, so if it is useful to have more than 300GB

anyway, you should not rely on a single hard drive to store your data ... so you need usb hard drives for emergency storage anyway ... so you can empty what is superfluous in the laptop, and with 300GB there is still plenty to do

Note that windows vista does not manage more than 3.3GB of RAM.
Windows seven 32bit no more than 4GB.

Ports often do not have their own video memory, it is taken from RAM.
So with 2GB of RAM at the start, we remove 512MB to 1GB for the video card, we end up with a tagazou that grinds. Because windows will use the ROM (hard disk) to create a virtual disk or access times are slow.
As soon as the hard drive is full: windows won't even start.

The only evolution that will remain is to go through an SSD disk, smaller in volume but terribly faster to give a second youth.

That's what I meant actually
The GB of RAM is not worth much now ...

When a 500GB HDD on a laptop, the interest is quite limited unless you download bluray like a big pig : Mrgreen:

Indeed, you would have to be stupid to store so much important personal data on a laptop, whose disk will be dead on the first big fall, which is easily stolen, etc ...
