As I was using the videos a while ago (until 2008) I received the warning email.

There is a function to download them.

I don't quite understand this stop: stop taking news, yes, but delete everything from google it's weird: they could have transferred the content to youtube ... the article you are quoting therefore poses the right ones Questions:

HIGH-TECH - The service puts the key under the door, without offering an automatic migration to YouTube ...

The petitions will not have changed anything: Google video will die on April 29, in the most total indifference. Having chosen to focus on YouTube for a while, Google finally decided to keep neither its original service nor its content.

From next Friday, the videos will no longer be accessible. Users who have uploaded clips and do not want them to disappear into the abyss of the global Internet have until May 13 to download them via a button specially set up by Google. They are encouraged to post them online on YouTube.

It is surprising that a company capable of developing a system for tweetering by landline phone in Egypt over a weekend was not able to offer a migration in one click. Contacted to explain, Google has not yet replied.

With the explosion of YouTube, Google video has always remained confidential. The service, however, was second to none to find hour-long clips on the Big Bang and quantum mechanics.

I too received the warning.

And it's downright boring! : Evil:

Download everything, upload everything elsewhere, and above all, redo the links when the videos were broadcast on a website ...

So those who have 1000 videos, as much to say that they will simply disappear ...

However, the hosting of these videos should not be very annoying for the giant google ... :?

Remundo you do not think so well to say, it is mega ultra painful to update everything ...

Frankly what does it cost them? Google Video was peanuts compared to the content or traffic of Youtube and the rest of google .... not even 1% of their server I bet!

The fact that there is no restriction of duration (or very long) allowed to put things in one go without having to cut ... it's a shame to delete this!

I had included a small 50aine on econology including a few to save / watch absolutely before it is too late:

Mail received on Saturday, Google apparently took into account a few complaints :D :D

You can transfer your videos from Google videos to Youtube in 1 click!

An Easier Way to Upload Google Video Content to YouTube

Dear Google Video User,

Last week we sent an email letting you know we would be ending playbacks of Google Videos on April 29 and providing instructions on how to download videos currently hosted on the platform. Since then we've received feedback from you about making the migration off of Google Video easier. We work every day to make sure you have a great user experience and should have done better. Based on your feedback, here's what we're doing to fix things.

Google Video users can rest assured that they won't be losing any of their content and we are eliminating the April 29 deadline. We will be working to automatically migrate your Google Videos to YouTube. In the meantime, your videos hosted on Google Video will remain accessible on the web and existing links to Google Videos will remain accessible. If you want to migrate to YouTube now, here's how you do it:

We've created an “Upload Videos to YouTube” option on the Google Video status page. To do this, you'll need to have a YouTube account associated with your Google Video account (you can create one here). Before doing this you should read YouTube's Terms of Use and Copyright Policies. If you choose this option, we'll do our best to ensure your existing Google Video links continue to function.

I just tested, it's instant! Great :)

By cons it would surprise me that videos over 15 minutes pass on Youtube ... but we never know in any case they are not refused during the 1st step of the transfer ... after the conversion ...

The YouTube conversion servers are certainly (over) heating there! : Cheesy: : Cheesy:

Thank you Christophe,

In fact, I had already saved them on my hard drive, I took the opportunity to translate the descriptions into several languages ...

So now, uploading them via googlevideos or directly to youtube, it should waste my time on one side or the other : Cheesy:
