According to WHO breastfeeding is the ideal way to provide infants with all the nutrients they need to grow and develop healthy.

Almost all mothers can breastfeed, if they have accurate information and support from their family as the care system. Breastfeeding is an integral part of procreation and has important implications for the health of the mother.

Colostrum, a yellowish and thick milk secretion produced at the end of pregnancy, is, as recommended by WHO, the perfect food for the newborn, who must start feeding within the first hour after birth. . Exclusive breastfeeding is recommended until six months of age.

In its recommendations WHO recommends introducing other foods, in addition to breast milk, from the age of six months (180 days).
