Return on websites of information media?

by Christophe » 29/12/08, 17:53

A small interesting dossier on the (no?) Profitability of "classic" mass media on the internet and broadcast at Soir3 last night:

https://www.econologie.com/edwy-plenel-m ... -4011.html

Here is the "conclusion" of this video: the profitability of sites with original editorial (= content not "repumped") is difficult to achieve in the current context and more and more sites are using paid subscriptions.

To get to know Edwy Plenel better: http://www.amazon.fr/Secrets-jeunesse-E ... 031&sr=1-2

All his books: http://www.amazon.fr/exec/obidos/search ... y%20Plenel

ps: this partly explains the presence of an econology shop: https://www.econologie.com/shop/

:? Let's go Christophe, you're not going to feel guilty because you trade for a living.

More seriously, the information may not be profitable, Or else, it is a means of pressure, propaganda ... exactly what the polls noted recently when they noted the loss of confidence in the traditional media (TV , radio, print media), for the benefit of the internet.

Personally I share this opinion, I often jump when I hear the disinformation and the manipulation of opinion of which the radio, rare media that I listen to, is guilty every day ...
And I'm not talking about the bludgeoning on insignificant events (like that of the navigator who broke a leg) and which occupies half of the newspaper ... Journalists have nothing more important to say !!!
Unless you have to put up a smoke screen to hide something else ...

So me, I am one of those who learn ELSEWHERE, (but several elsewhere), and I make my own synthesis with my little brain. :?

Yes, you have to live well ... The commercial formulas are more and more subtle with free access and in addition to paid subscriptions.

The Internet is the land of freedom and free surfing. Inevitably, this destabilizes the little habits of the written press, radio and TV.

I do not think that the traditional media will disappear, but the system will find its new point of equilibrium with a decline in TV, radio and newspapers.

I'm not feeling guilty ... should I? I'm just trying to explain what "costs" to manage a site ...

Another example of the cost of a site (but hey it's a bit 'excessive): http://www.lesechos.fr/info/metiers/4813148.htm

Pedagojeux.fr wants to explain video games to parents

Online this weekend, Pédagojeux is an information site on video games intended for families. It was born from a recommendation of Forum rights on the Internet, which in a report from November 2007 proposed "to set up an information and popularization site on online video games to help parents discover video games". The project was then managed by nine partners including the Internet without fear program (supported by the European Community), the Forum, Unaf (National Union of Family Associations), Action Innocence association, SELL (Syndicate of leisure software publishers), Microsoft ... Each contributed to the total budget (some 40.000 euros, according to the Forum). In its first version, the site includes 23 articles : "Presumed addiction to gambling" (written by doctor Marc Valleur, specialist in the treatment of addictions), "Violence and gambling", "Video games, a stake in parental authority", "Advertising and gambling" , etc. But the nine partners are already thinking about a second version of their baby.

If I count well it is more than 1700 € the article ... : Shock:

There are some who do not blow their feet ... well when they are subsidies (public or private) ... We do not count ... : Evil: : Evil: : Evil:

Otherwise here is an analysis slightly opposite to that of Edwy Penel: http://novovision.fr/?Mediapart-a-six-mois-et-si-Edwy

Pedagojeux.fr is reassuring with the French flag on the pages

It looks very much like a misappropriation of public money, and it will recur since it worked once ...

The funds are not lost for everyone, and will fatten deserving friends or the fund of a political party above the law, for the moment.

Do not be so cynical Gegyx ... there are other much more considerable sums spent in a much more silly way ...
