Rejuvenate a well

by Benji » 01/12/08, 13:25

Hello,
Here I am about to buy a house and my problem is that on one side of the house is a well that I would have to plug in to be able to make an extension (only possible place for it)
So I would like to know if it is possible to do it, by what means and especially if it will not pose a problem of stability of the future extension.
Thank you for your answers and advice.

it is sacrilege to plug a well.
rather use it by opening it into a cellar under your house extension. well it depends on the depth of the well and the maximum height of the water in it.

It would indeed be very sad to sacrifice this well.
One possibility would be to integrate it from the floor of
of the extension. I saw one thus. The well is
covered with thick glass and concealed spots
highlight the depth of the well. It is very beautiful and just as
impressive when you walk on it.

Yes, indeed I understand your point of view but there I do not have too much choice, on the opposite there is the garage with the boiler, the septic tank nearby and it is impossible for me to realize my extension in L for lack of space, I have already thought of all this and the only solution which seems to me the simplest and least expensive is to plug the well !!! In addition I already have a rainwater collector, less aesthetic with a much lower capacity but just as effective and sufficient to water the garden and the vegetable patch !!!
Isn't there really a solution?
Thank you for your answers and advice.

If you don't get along with your neighbors, they could make a very good filling material : Mrgreen:
(Otherwise, there is also the stepmother)

We had a collapsing well in a corner of the courtyard and for security reasons we plugged it with demolition rubble.

It sure makes you moan about closing a well, but sometimes you have no choice.

Hello

If you want to plug a well, why not
To build there ... abandons
The use of water from the well to create a pumping of "fines" from the ground
over time.
The land around the well is eaten away ... the water took with them certain constituent parts of the land
And it is not advisable to build on it ... just as it is not advised to make a well in the basement of his house

Hello

true but maybe a little too general. in my region of origin, there are quite a few old farms with a well in the house and the barracks are over 100 years old and are still standing.

: Arrow: I share the opinions of some ... and others ... :?

- It is regrettable to plug a well.
- Many houses had a well inside, a hand pump formerly made it possible to have "running" water inside the houses. True LUXURY.
- followers of "feng shui", freemasons and other sciences say that building on aquifers has influences on organisms and these data were taken into account since antiquity and by the builders of cathedrals ...

A well was filled on my land before construction of the house, I would like to know where it was ...

By the way, this is where your region dirk pitt, if you update your profile. :?:
