The Israeli-Palestinian conflict: Distant, recent history and News

Hello Econologists.

We sometimes debate recent events in the Middle East.

I found 2 very informative and digestible videos on the History-Geo YouTube channel

This conflict is much larger than the Russo-Ukrainian war, so it deserves a dedicated thread.

Well, the subject is not very lively here, but there is an atmosphere there.

Then the carpet bombs fall on Gaza as planned. But these are legitimate acts of Israel, the great humanist democracy which lights up the Middle East, like a lighthouse illuminates the depths of the ocean.

On the other hand, the AFP walks on eggshells and does not dare to describe the acts of Hamas as "terrorist", it resorts to a long explanation of the text which oscillates between caution, intellectualism and hypocrisy.
This rule applies to all Agency journalistic coverage regarding politically motivated violence targeting civilians. Editorial guidelines for coverage of the war between Israel and Hamas follow this long-standing editorial policy.

Even the very Atlanticist LCI uses its antenna to bluntly describe the disaster in Gaza.

I note in passing that LCI, like the rest of the media, is very benevolent towards Netanyahu, whereas as soon as a missile fell on Ukraine, Putin was condemned to gemonies.

No, but that's normal, it's written in a book, the Torah they call it, this land is theirs. And since we do what we want at home, they have all the rights.
They have not yet understood that God is a little joker and that Torah is nonsense.

Even if what Hamas did is very despicable and much of it must be derailed, I sincerely wonder what other alternative do the Palestinians have? (because of what they get from it...)

Israelis know how to win wars, which ultimately proves of little use since they are incapable of building subsequent peace: this is why it has become a military state, a people in a state of perpetual mobilization. Obligation which results from the deliberate desire to persist in irresolving the source of conflicts.
Crushing Hamas, of course they are capable of it, but the massive bombings provide the fertile ground on which new Hamas will arise...

I fully agree with his statement: "There is no effective use of force without a political strategy.".
It is this last point which has been sorely lacking in Israel for a long time, and the content of the current government does not encourage optimism. The big concern is that it is not at all by chance or incapacity, but because all Israeli policy, especially domestic, is based on the presence of an "enemy" who unites society and whose authorities this country does not know how to do without...

still a great specialist in the historical ignorance of nations.
Does France belong to the French or are they not just a collection of individuals generated by centuries of conquest, by force, over their neighbor's property and therefore from a mixture of "races"? When did earthlings stop hitting each other millennia or millions of years ago, according to the vague theory of evolutionism? Never! So this conflict is only one among the multitude of others, here and elsewhere! : Cry:

What is interesting about history is that depending on the era you select, you can almost legitimize any position. Everyone will select the era that corresponds to their preferences. Using history as an argument, we are unlikely to resolve conflicts quickly.

very just! History does not resolve anything, it only reports the past and its conflicts which have never served as a lesson to humans.
The conflicts stop, to use the formula: "and the fight stopped for lack of fighters" when people are tired of hitting each other in the face and drawing rivers of blood.
