Reviews of your favorite movies: the best ones to recommend or recommend? Your cult films or masterpieces?

by Christophe » 26/03/11, 21:27

Entertainment and culture: what are your best movies? Your favorite movies? Your unforgettable masterpieces (not necessarily classified as that by the critics)?

Concerning me I open the "ball" (but you already know if you are used):

Mister Nobody
medias / mister-nobody-Belgian-conceptual-film-on-life-t10468.html

Enter the void
media / enter-the-void-a-movie-about-the-book-of-dead-Tibetan-t10317.html

Beautiful green
Company-and-philosophy / the-beautiful-green-to-hill-serreau-a-movie-a-view-t4807.html

V for Vendetta
medias / v-for-vendetta-un-film-à-voir-t3483.html

Thomas is in love
medias / thomas-is-in-love-an-interesting-film-t4059.html

The School of Power (TV Movie)
society-and-philosophy / the-school-of-power-docu-fiction-on-ena-by-arte-t9972.html

I also like the caustic atmosphere of some Dupontels

(Bernie Noel hihih, 2 days to kill bistro / cynical-reflections-on-materialist-life-and-money-t7361.html ) ...

So there you have it ... other movies that I enjoy will come later (if I'm "inspired"). The excellent Das Boot for example ...

To you !

Thin I saw none of 4 I think (finally for octopus I have a doubt ...)! : Cheesy:

Poolevorde is a bit like Dupontel's "square root" in terms of a caustic atmosphere. :)

Although in "It happened close to you", he blithely exceeds him!

In the genre "very heavy and Belgian" there is Thick neck (to see for its cinema culture):

http://www.allocine.fr/film/fichefilm_g ... 61252.html in the realization it made me think (1 little) of a kind of pulp fiction "Belgian version" but not finished ...: Cheesy:

I love Daroussin too.

In the genre FR dramatic comedy I particularly liked:

The 1st day of the rest of your life: http://www.allocine.fr/film/fichefilm_g ... 27836.html

and in the genre of police drama FR Mesrine 2008 version, superb atmosphere:
http://www.allocine.fr/film/fichefilm_g ... 51603.html
http://www.allocine.fr/film/fichefilm_g ... 11809.html

ps: when you present a movie, try to link its allocation file, imdb or wiki for those who do not know it. It will make things easier. thank you!

Very good subject :D
I'm not a movie fan but I have about 1000 movies anyway.
Last bought and seen: Enter the void (bought and seen because I have more 200 to see : Shock: )
My favorite by far:
"The beautiful story" by Claude lelouche. http://www.allocine.fr/film/fichefilm_g ... 29615.html
Like a friend said: Lelouche we like or we do not like ... Me j'adore
Then: "Jumper" by Doug Liman: http://www.allocine.fr/film/fichefilm_g ... 14653.html
For 2 reasons:
1, no more transport, no more polution and no waste of time : Cheesy:
2, the lesson on intolerance.
Then: "The Road" by John Hillcoat. http://www.allocine.fr/film/fichefilm_g ... 27661.html
I love movies on the end of the world and this one is probably the hardest can be because the most realistic.
In addition to the movies on the end of the world, I love those on travel time (I have 54 116 referenced) and I hope not all have a day, but unfortunately very difficult to find ..
Out of the time of Robert Schwentke http://www.allocine.fr/film/fichefilm_g ... 61578.html
Being alive at one time and dead at another, and at the same time ...
The Fukushima disaster made me think back to a Japanese film or at the end, a woman and a man (the last of the planet?) Are in a deadly yellow smoke and the man (scientist responsible for the disaster) asks for forgiveness to the woman (last innocent alive) for not having thought of the consequences of their experiences.
I do not remember the title.
So much for today.

+ 1 for dupontel
Bernie, the creator and the conveyor are not bad, the image sometimes replaces the dialogue and leaves the opportunity to put oneself in the character
re + 1 Dikkeneck

Cold:

4 movies (of the same type) for sf lovers:
1138 THX 1971 anyway but it does not seem (EDIT: trailer
Equilibrium
The island
Southland Tales: described as a turnip, actors not top but script & direction not badly done, to my taste. (film a bit of a mess, to watch 2 times)

In the funny:
Black cat White cat
Mic-mac has pulled-larigot

For those who love horror with a good dose of black humor / cynicism / caustic / immoral:
The house of the dead 1000 and his sequel The devil's rejects (Rob Zombie)

- Waaaw THX 1138, never heard spoken, seen the BA ca makes you want!

: Shock: : Shock:

Buy, buy, be happy!

Crazy, it looks like a Kubrick movie of anticipation! Well there are some scenes in summary images in the version of the BA ... but all the same!

It exists in BluRay

(the modern cut director version a priori)

Hop it's put in the basket!

- The Island was a good surprise but it is especially the 1 part that is interesting, after that share in the action movie action with very little interest ... so mixed opinion!

- Mic Mac, by cons, largely disappointed me compared to Amelie ... especially given the media hay that was made, I had to laugh 2 times in all ... :|

Do not bother to advise Amélie, since everyone knows ...

- In the genre, film to discover by cons and seen the nuclear events is Starker by Tarkovsky filmed in the USSR in 1979: http://www.allocine.fr/film/fichefilm_g ... m=702.html

I have not seen it yet, but the reviews are glowing!

We talked about it (a little) in this subject: nuclear-globalization-lessons-to-learn-from-fukushima-t10628.html

I fell to the media library (cf biblio-ludo-mediatheques-econologique-rediscouverte-les-t10698.html ) about a good French drama comedy surprise:

The concert

http://www.allocine.fr/film/fichefilm_g ... 10666.html

Directed by Radu Mihaileanu
With Melanie Laurent, Aleksei Guskov, Dimitry Nazarov, more

French feature film. Genre: Dramatic comedy
Duration: 02h00min Production Year: 2008
Distributor: EuropaCorp Distribution

Caesar of Best Music Written for a Movie: Caesar 2010 Edition No. 35

Synopsis: At the time of Brezhnev, Andrei Filipov was the greatest conductor of the Soviet Union and conducted the famous Bolshoi Orchestra. But after refusing to part with his Jewish musicians, including his best friend Sacha, he was fired in full glory. Thirty years later, he still works at the Bolshoi but ... as a cleaning man.

One evening, while Andrei stayed very late to polish the office of the master of the place, he falls on a fax addressed to the director: it is an invitation of the Théâtre du Châtelet inviting the Bolshoi orchestra to play in Paris ... Suddenly, Andrei has an idea of madness: why not reunite his old musician friends, who live today odd jobs, and take them to Paris, making them look like the Bolshoi? The long-awaited opportunity to finally take their revenge ...

In fact it's a Franco-Russian film, in "original version" the first part is in Russian!

It changes a lot of the French comedies stews of kad merad (Rtt, Protect and serve = Help!) But he is not the only one to make the level flush with the daisies now! Surprisingly, it seems to me that we are talking more about these crap than films like "The concert" ... another sign of the decline of our society ... or will to stupefy? *

In short, the concert is a good moment of relaxation, to rent or buy (if you are a little music lover) with your eyes closed! Nice musical atmosphere, well there are still some heaviness ... but nothing to do with a "rtt" 100% heavy and 0 scenario ...

The reviews on amazon are also rather laudatory: http://www.amazon.fr/product-reviews/B0 ... ewpoints=1

* it looks like I'm not the only one thinking this:

This comment refers to this edition: The Concert - Edition 2 DVD (Caesar 2010 Best Music) (DVD)

This is by far the most beautiful and touching movie of these last 10 years.
Wonderful ... the fact that we have not spoken more is a sign of the level of society in which we live! A commercial jungle
overly debilitating ...

I have the movie The Concert and I totally agree with the comment of Amazon.

A film that I loved telling the story of the fanfare of a coal mine in England at the time of Thatcher: Brassed

http://www.allocine.fr/film/fichefilm_gen_cfilm=11676.html
Excerpt: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u36c334UNB8

@ SixK: The movie Donnie Darko to a sequel, this is S. Darko.

Since I do not have TV, live in the deep country or there are no billboards and I rarely go to town, I'm not influenced by the ads to choose movies that I buy and so I make my own opinion by informing me right and left as here for example.
For the moment I have 14 films announced in this topic including 2 that I bought after having read your comments: "Enter the void" and "Mister Nobody".
Go gently with good movies anyway, I will not know or put them away : Mrgreen:

SixK wrote:- Atomik Circus

Houlala, I just watch it ...

That's how to say ... uh ... surprising, crazy atmosphere (euphemism), very offbeat?

I found the atmosphere very "JPP Jeunet" ...

Otherwise in news film I advise The conquest

It's not a "good" film that will be remembered but it's well done, it's still in the theaters.

It has aged a little but the plot is still good:

- Brainstorm http://www.allocine.fr/film/fichefilm_g ... =3983.html
et http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0085271/ (More details)

I remember that the guy rides on a recumbent bike ... in 1983!
: Cheesy: and I'm wondering now if he's not living in a earthship house...

Oh yes it was coming out of 2 oil crises ...

It really is the film that has aged a bit and deserves a remake ... because it really makes think about what technology could bring to humanity ...

The remake of Conan will certainly ... more accessible mentally and bring much more to its producers ... : Mrgreen:

Here is also released in 1983 ... : Cheesy:
