Quality of a still and thickness of copper

by val » 25/09/08, 16:07

Could someone tell me if the thickness of copper for a column still is important for the quality of the essential oils obtained?
Thank you in advance

I am not a specialist in the still (more taster of course like bcp) but I would say that considering the thermal conductivity of copper ca must not have a great importance ...

I would add that (unless you know a specific supplier or that you are in the business) already to find the fittings, the tubes of good dimensions is the big hassle (I spent my aprem in DIY stores, it there is nothing above 22, you have to go to a specialist)
And it's mega expensive: 12 euros a tee of diam 32 ... Fouya!

So to find different thicknesses ... well, I don't think it's worth it.
