Indeed, I toasted my microwave oven (the microwave part) this afternoon after several cycles of more than 10 minutes .... everything else works but no longer the microwave heating part and yet it still consumes in the 500W : Shock:

You have to be careful, there is a part in there that is dangerous if not protected by scrap metal!

The transformer of a 600W microwave oven...does not dissipate 500W eh...well, not in normal times...hence my question: where does the energy go???

Yes it grills and yes it still works (at 1000W)!

I wouldn't be shocked if a half-dilapidated magnetron swallowed 500 W.
