There was still an almost precedent in 1982:
Climate: at the South Pole it's over 20 ° C, a first!
Mercury has, for the first time in history, exceeded 20 ° at the South Pole, reports the British newspaper The Guardian. On Sunday, the Brazilian scientists' thermometers on Seymour Island posted 20,75 °, almost a degree higher than the last record set at this location in 1982 of 19,8 °.

uh no, at the South pole, it's - 25 ° C right now:

on Futurasciences, a weather specialist (though rather climatomaniac!) strongly doubts the record, which apparently has not been measured by an approved station

now on the warming "since the beginning of the industrial era", I would like to know what measures were available in the region at the beginning of the industrial era ...

I don't see the connection with temperature measurements in Antarctica before the industrial age. The goal is rather to try to stop saying and writing anything, as soon as we start talking about RC.
