Climate: record concentration of CO2 in the northern hemisphere

The threshold of 400 parts per million (ppm) of atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2) was exceeded for the first time in April in the northern hemisphere announced, Monday, May 26, the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) . This concentration is considered "highly symbolic on a scientific level" according to the WMO, because it demonstrates that the objective set by the international community to limit, by the end of the century, global warming to two degrees above the pre-industrial level is untenable.

"The crossing of 400 ppm demonstrates once again that the exploitation of fossil fuels is responsible, as well as other human activities, for the continuous increase in the concentrations of greenhouse gases which warm our planet", specified the United Nations agency based in Geneva. "If we want to preserve the planet for future generations, we must act urgently to reduce the emissions of these gases which trap heat", declared Michel Jarraud, Secretary General of the WMO, for whom "time is running out "." Alas, fear does not avoid danger!
This figure was predictable and has been forecast for a long time ... Nothing is moving, however.

As they say, it's not the fall that hurts, it's the landing.

No nothing at all, confirmed by the figure for June.

Well then ... given the forecast of the measures and the sharp reduction in fossil fuel consumption, we should have seen a small inflection, right? Or is there a big lag? : Shock: : Idea:

1 ppm atmospheric is how many GT again?
