Eco-checks, a new social advantage
Eco-checks originate in the latest inter-professional agreement, which provides that
employers may grant each worker an advantage corresponding to a maximum of EUR 125
in 2009 and 250 EUR in 2010. The social partners wanted to create an instrument to
to give net to the workers, while at the same time carrying out an ecological sensitization.
These checks benefit from favorable treatment in tax and parafiscal matters: they are exempt from taxes and
Social Security contributions. They are excluded from the concept of remuneration if the following conditions are met:
- Granted by CCT as for meal vouchers. In the absence of union delegation or in the case of a category of personnel
for which it is not usual to conclude a collective agreement, an individual written agreement is required
- Indication in the collective agreement of the maximum nominal value (with a maximum of 10 EUR per cut) and the frequency
of granting (periodic, 1x, 2x)
- Check is issued in the name of the worker
- 24 months validity in order to be able to accumulate eco-checks over 2 years, 3 years for expensive investments
- Use limited to the purchase of ecological goods and services
- No cash exchange, neither fully nor partially
- Maximum amount authorized per worker: EUR 125 in 2009, EUR 250 in 2010.
Eco-checks are intended for the purchase of ecological products and services. These products are included in a list
(exhaustive, in order to guarantee clarity and legal certainty for all the actors) annexed to the CCT n ° 98 of the CNT.
This list is managed by the social partners. It includes a sufficiently wide range of products and services
so that the measure is a success and that it is really a negotiating instrument making it possible to give
net to the worker. Wide range, but credible on the ecological level (ecological added value, impact
favorable for the environment or lower consumption).
When providing eco-checks for the first time, the employer must inform the worker of the contents of the list with all the
useful means. Thereafter, the information will be available on the CNT website and on that of future publishers.

Finally, given the evolving nature of the subject, this list will be completed after one year (additions). After two years, she will
completely updated, with the help of the competent authorities (additions and withdrawals). The eco-check system itself

For which ecological products and services?
1. Energy saving
Purchase and / or placement (by registered contractors) of products and services that meet the criteria for reductions

6. Promotion of attention to nature
Purchase of wood, wooden products or paper made from sustainably harvested wood fibers (FSC
or PEFC or equivalent), purchase of outdoor trees and plants, bulbs and seeds for outdoor use as well as
guaranteed organic fertilizers, etc.
