TOTAL, Burma and its natural gas

Small extract from:

350 million euros to the Burmese state

Total operates part of the Yadana gas field in Burma, in the south of the country. The group, which produced 17,4 million cubic meters of gas per day last year, employs 270 people. According to Christophe de Margerie, "Yadana brought in 350 million euros to the (Burmese) state in 2006", but Total "cannot ask the government what it is doing with this money".

Or 6351 Million m3 per year. TOTAL therefore transfers € 5,5 cts per m3 of gas. One m3 of gas is sold for € 0,4 incl. Tax (4 cents per kWh) in France.

We are therefore quite far from 1/5 of the sale price paid to the producer country for oil: https://www.econologie.com/taxation-fisc ... -3471.html

Would gas be more interesting than oil for oil tankers? In any case, the technical constraints of gas are more important (mainly transport) ...

About Burma I invite you to read the article by Thierry Meyssan.
You have to take a step back from what was said, however I find the article interesting.
Before our eyes, a people are fighting for their freedom. But the support it receives from the United States and the Atlantic media is in no way intended to achieve this. Washington wants to cut the Chinese pipeline, dismantle military electronic surveillance bases to take control of the sea lanes, and open the market to its multinationals. It will not be enough for the Burmese to overthrow the generals to be free.
Thierry Meysan.

:

see the definition of the sale price: remove the taxes (VAT and excise), see if it is a wholesale or retail price, deduct the transport costs (boat + pipes)
