Precise conditions for determining the PCI / PCS?

by Christophe » 04/06/12, 19:35

Silly question" : what are the exact conditions for determining the PCI / PCS of a fuel or motor fuel?

Combustion in the air? In pure oxygen? Initial temperature? Final temperatures (of combustion products and / or inert if in the air)? Empirical or theoretical method?

The wiki page is rather sober: http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pouvoir_ca ... C3%A9rieur

It is perfectly clear for physicist chemists for 150 years and more, the bomb calorimeter, or other, etc.:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bomb_calor ... lorimeters
we manage to have the complete reaction and we measure the heat in addition, with the T after calibration, all with great care, and if we are serious, we calculate the error bars !!!.

I found that regarding the PCS it was done according to the standard NF M 07-030

Found in this old article (2004 all the same ...) that I just updated: https://www.econologie.com/pouvoirs-calo ... s-534.html

ps edit: written at the same time as dede, this link is more complete than the german version http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heat_of_combustion but where is the french version ???? : Shock:

but where is the french version ????

Just copy the English one by translating into wikipedia !!!
Anyone can do it, even adding knowledge to books by not copying, automatic wikipedia copyright then eliminates it. !!!

Go back to "Fossil energies: oil, gas, coal and nuclear electricity (fission and fusion)"
