Hello

I have to do an important job for the school and I have chosen as a theme the future energies that will replace the fuel for transport.
I have a quick question for biofuels. I did research but all that does not seem very clear to me ...
I thought I said that at the level of biofuels there were 3 main categories:

- Alcohols
- The esters
- biogas from methane ??

I'm pretty sure I'm not mistaken for the first two, however for the third I have some doubts ...?
Are there really 3 fillers?
Could you enlighten me?

Biogas is already methane by definition at more or less high concentration (60% is a good average).

Biogas (except used as LPG but nothing is still in place except marginal action) cannot really be considered as a fuel ...

By cons you forgot the liquefaction of biomass in your listing ...

Negative, it is a renewable fuel but not "BIO" because it does not come from "living" ...

But precisely, I wanted to say that water is not "living", so that the hydrogen obtained by this process - and most of the others - does not fall into the category of fuels derived from biomass.

La BIOmass is the material produced by living beings, typically comprising the 4 atoms of life (C, H, O, N), and observed in the form of reduced molecules.

To answer your question, son of Iver, I think you should describe in the form of dedicated channels:
- the oilseed plant sector from which oils are obtained (and possibly esters => Diester® or "biodiesel" for Mr Toulemonde) to supply diesel engines,
- the "sugar plants" sector (sugar plants or cereals) from which alcohols (and possibly ETBE) are obtained to fuel gasoline engines.

Then, from biomass from any source, various transformations, from the simplest (anaerobic digestion => "biogas") to the most complicated ("BTL" process for liquefying the biomass) make it possible to produce a fuel derived from living organisms, therefore bio-fuel ...

Water H2O is part of the 4 atoms of living ... and all living beings are made up of a part of water ... hence my answer ...

Then the oil is also drawn from the living ... indirectly ... but hey we fall back on the same reasoning (without interest) as that which consisted in saying that all the energies come from the sun ...

2) Voui pour GPL ... I would rather say: gas vehicle (that's what I had in mind or confusion ...) .. Then nothing prevents doping no matter what a biogas engine ... no need to get angry for so little ...
