Making the diester or biodiesel: Recipe

The diester is made by extraction of an HVB-based (methyl) ester and using methanol. Glycerin is produced as a by-product in a fairly large quantity.
2 main problems:
1) Methanol (thus destroyed during the synthesis of the ester) is expensive and contains a substantial energy manufacturing (oil) ...
2) The sum of energy contained in the HVB + methanol (the reagents) is close to that contained in the Diester (the product) ...
