Germany commissioned a new kind of plant on Monday: it uses heat and biogas to generate heat and electricity. When wind production is higher than demand, hydrogen is produced to store electricity.
The three wind turbines will have a power of 6 MW. When production exceeds demand, a 500 kW electrolyser will be started to produce hydrogen. This will be used, in addition to biogas, to make up for the shortcomings in electricity production and guarantee the continuity of electricity production.
