Bonjour à tous
The problem that this forest is likely to encounter is the lack of green manure. The rotting wood contributes to the nourishment of the trees that remain in place. They will have to take this into account otherwise in a few years their beautiful forest could It would be a shame if one day they are forced to spread chemical fertilizer in their forest for tree growth.

I think (I hope) that the problem of soil depletion has been taken into account ... and then there are always the leaves which constitute a significant part of the humus!

Conversely it can be beneficial to harvest the wood because some decaying wood releases methane ... much worse for the greenhouse effect than CO2.

On the other hand, I was a little shocked by the phrase "Kings of petroleum" ... maybe an imperfection in the translation?
