Hello everyone !
For a personal project, I would like to integrate a medium performance peltier module into a small portable device.
Problem: I don't have the place to integrate a heat sink worthy of the name, and the peltiers offer a little freshness if the hot side is not cooled. So I thought about a solution to cool the peltier without heatsink.
Can a coolant in contact with the hot side cool it and allow optimal freshness creation on the cold side?
I would like the opinion of a specialist on the possibility of cooling a peltier module with coolant, if someone qualified is motivated to go further and participated in the creation of an innovation that will be the subject of a patent in a very short time, send me a message on 0661848780.
Thank you for your advice and have a good week,
TC

Re: Hot face cooling for Peltier module
Bonjour.
It exists and for cheap.

Other uses of the Peltier cell:
A friend put this on his wood stove, it's pretty funny but it doesn't do wonders either, it doesn't stir enough air

as long as the hot side can evacuate the calories, you can cool with anything: air, water.
The best being a liquid, indeed.
In practice, one should not hope to do better than 20 ° C between the 2 sides of a Peltier.

You are still useless and whatever your nickname.
I say this because it is a very often underestimated criterion to be able to sufficiently evacuate the quantity of heat pumped plus the enormous pumping energy. (rotten yield)
In short, you have to cool the hot face down if you want to do something with a Peltier.

Sorry, mea culpa.
It is true that writing "as long as the hot side can evacuate the calories, you can cool with anything: air, water.", it serves a lot ....

You will be able to split yourself with a second mea culpa, since it is precisely THAD's questioning which obviously needs to be reassured on this point.
definitely when you have bad intentions ....

Absolutely. You can find it in cheap 12 V coolers, beer pumps, absorption fridges. An execrable performance.eclectron wrote:as long as the hot side can evacuate the calories, you can cool with anything: air, water.

Low voltage absorption refrigerators are very expensive in addition. It is proposed for motorhomes, but at 30 ° in the shade, it rotates permanently without being able to maintain the 4 ° requested.
A small 230 V A ++ fridge powered by a 1000 W inverter, controlled by an independent thermostat, is much cheaper, while being much more efficient.

And the small fridges running on butane or propane gas (some are electric 12V and 220V at the same time) work even better and dispense with all this electro-electric mess. In addition, they are much quieter.
