Renewable energy survey

by superbibou » 19/04/11, 08:28

Hello,

I am new to this forum : I registered because I am responsible for carrying out a survey on renewable energies as part of my studies. In fact I have to create a space called "eco-energy house" to inform visitors to my establishment about renewable energies. I already have a few ideas, but as I don't really know where to start, I decided to create a form on the subject to collect the opinions of as many people as possible. The answers obtained will allow me to make choices among all the ideas, and to orient my work in this direction.

I will be very grateful if you would like to participate in this project: you just have to click on this link to access it (the form is hosted on Google Docs):
https://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?formkey=dHFkd2NtbFZwMHJESjRiMzl2V2x1VWc6MQ

The form is anonymous and it does not take more than 10 minutes to complete it. When you have finished answering, just click on the "Send" button at the bottom of the page to register your participation.

I will edit this post as soon as I get enough answers (knowing that I browse several websites for this) so weekend I think ... And then it can also interest all those who ask questions about the topic.

I count on you ! : Wink:

THANK YOU :D

I had started to fill but I stopped. Because I don't want to participate in something that seems biased, but not necessarily in a malicious way. Let me explain:

You pretend to do this for your studies when we come across an essay that is not very in tune with the work of a student. Are you really in the common sense of the term?

This survey is a good initiative. Only it is completely "oriented" and does not give all the possible alternatives. As a result - like many polls whose concern is not necessarily impartiality as an essential rule - which means that the deductions that could be drawn from it would be distorted. And so in the end, it does no good for anyone, from econologists to hard-working industrialists with no ecological fiber.

Perhaps it would have been better to submit its editorial staff to criticism before launching the survey itself!

About semantics:

Thermodynamic solar panels

It is "thermal" that it must be said, thermodynamic solar panels, that is to say with a thermodynamic cycle of evaporation / condensation of a refrigerating fluid that exists but extremely rare! In fact it corresponds to a heat pump whose external battery would be a solar panel.

In short: there is no thermodynamics in a thermal solar panel ...

Also it would be nice to present for which studies in the intro ...

: Arrowu: + 1 with Obamot. :?
As far as I'm concerned, I know most of the renewable solutions listed, and I use a few.

The biggest problem concerns the availability on the market of real competent professionals in place of the opportunists of a fashionable sector who see this sector of activity as a gold mine and discredit it by their delusional commercial proposals.
For example: a seller of heat and geothermal solutions gave me a quote of € 20.000 excluding geothermal drilling ...

Obamot, thank you for your constructive criticism. I understand your point of view, but there are certain elements that I must clarify:

1) I am a student, unfortunately I have no great means at my disposal to prove it to you, but I would like to understand what makes you doubt it: do you think that a student is not able to produce a survey like this?

2) you say that my survey is "oriented". This is entirely true but I do not really see where the problem is: indeed, I need to direct my questions a minimum, because I will take into account the answers to arrange this space. I have many constraints to respect, so I will not deal with just any subject! I remember all the same that I do this in order to learn about the subject, and that it helps me during the realization phase!

3) you speak of "impartiality of the polls". You are probably not wrong, but let me point out that I am not a professional, that I am not really used to polls, and that in the end I do my best! For information, I had started in Word, submitted my form to several people, and many questions have changed, evolved, or even disappeared in the interest of improvement

All this to say that I do not see how my form is "biased", that before econology I submitted it exclusively to my entourage and to some members of others forums on renewable energies.

In summary I do not ask for an in-depth analysis of the relevance of my form (because when you think about it there is always something to blame for anything), I simply ask to respond spontaneously, in all honesty, and without taking of head !

To finish this paving stone, thank you to Christophe for having corrected me for the thermal panels, (I thought "thermodynamic"), I was indeed wrong : Cheesy:

PS: it proves that I am not a specialist in the subject and that there is a good chance that I am a student for those who still doubt it! (DUT GEA for those interested ...)

You should indicate this in the intro of your survey + your promo + your IUT (name, city ...) this would avoid the kind of remarks above.

These remarks are legitimate: there are so many "sales people" hiding behind "students" on the net ...

What neni! It is not a question of capacity but of morality. Reason why I suggested that it was subjected to criticism in the preamble. Besides, this question gently made me smile:

superbibou wrote:If you had to go to a fair on renewable energies, what are the elements that you would like to find in priority? *
You can make several choices
Comprehensive information on renewable energy
Complete information on products working with these energies
Varied product ranges to meet all your needs
Professional advice to guide you and help you make a choice
The presentation of new innovative technologies via animations
other:

Hmm, it's good in the perspective of a feedback for participation in a fair, or I do not know ... ;-)

I would have much preferred the approach of someone who would admit his modesty by saying: "Here, I would like to make my profession of a field of renewable energies and I would like to find help in this perspecive"

At least it would have been clear! Mebon, you tell us you're a student, either. No way to check, so you won't be chased like a witch or banished : Mrgreen: : Mrgreen: : Mrgreen:

superbibou wrote:2) you say that my survey is "oriented". This is entirely true but I don't really see where the problem is:

What to learn from an overly oriented survey, if not to put people on their hind legs ... ;-)

superbibou wrote:actually, I need to orient my questions as little as possible, because I will take into account the answers to arrange this space. [...] I still remember that I do this in order to inform myself on the subject, and that it helps me during the realization phase!

Here we are. (Had to tell us earlier ^ b ^ -)

Yes good, well it's good to have a concern for perfection. What else? If you are looking for something around ethics, you will damn progress.

superbibou wrote:All this to say that I do not see how my form is "biased", that before econology I submitted it exclusively to my entourage and to some members of others forums on renewable energies.

In a while, when the thing has matured. You will probably see more clearly ...

It would not be used for anything other than blurring the tracks as it is (or even blurring yourself).

Yes, well, there are a lot of others missing ... Like solar thermal power plants.

Let's move on to the positive. I find your initiative extremely good and encourage you to continue with as much frankness as you have perfectionism (if there is still something to prove in the field). Good luck and keep it up.

This type of questionnaire has the gift of irritating me !!
Too reductive, simplistic, misleading and even pure scam !!

For example, in
What do you think is the renewable energy that has the greatest potential for exploitation in the years to come?

to separate the different renewable energies like solar different from earth = geothermal is a total nonsense !!

Indeed solar energy is not separable from the earth, when we store its summer solar heat in the earth to have this winter heat of the earth to heat the houses!

Earth is not just geothermal energy, a misleading term because it includes two unrelated methods:
1) the real geothermal energy taking the heat of the deep earth very hot, 1 to 3 km deep, (hoping that it lasts a long time, bet on the future not always true, given the very low heat flux coming from the deep earth , except on volcanoes!) and
2) the heat pump which takes lukewarm heat in the earth a few meters deep (Canadian well often undersized), which has nothing geothermal, because this heat is that of the sun absorbed by the earth on the surface on several years, and which has nothing, strictly nothing, of geothermal energy, it heat coming from the depths of the earth !!
So this question is a summary of common scam!

The solar and the earth are together in the efficient solution which takes the solar thermal heat of the summer, in excess, to store it in winter and with heating the houses in perpetuity without CO2, no pollution, neither nuclear, nor heat pump !!
See and read the real solution that works:
http://www.dlsc.ca/DLSC_Brochure_f.pdf
http://www.dlsc.ca

This is the real Canadian well heated strongly in summer by the sun on thermal panels and this heat used in winter to heat homes in winter, free of CO2 and pollution. This is the way to remove all nuclear power plants, and fossil fuels, gas, fuel oil, wood, coal, used for heating homes and buildings !!

In France this real solution of perpetual heating without pollution of CO2 and nuclear, which can replace a lot of nuclear power plants, and save a lot of oil and gas, is stifled, ignored, systematically, even by ecology, so bad misleading solutions permeate us and rip us off !!

So this questionnaire makes me jump, in his questions, he stinks of the commercial scam behind most of the canvassing for renewable energies !!

What is the first word that comes to mind when you hear the expression "renewable energy"?

scam a telephone salesperson seeking to place a € 30000 heat pump that will go bankrupt before installation (real money pump experienced by friends), or a photovoltaic panel in the shade of a tree improperly inserted into the roof which will become a rain strainer after !!

The word thermodynamics used wrongly also stinks of the heat pump scam at 30000 € !!
This word has not been changed from the questionnaire!

This kind of commercial business management questionnaire is nonsense which coupled with numerous scams destroy the ecology in the minds of the public.

This also reeks of French contempt for the technique, with that the management of companies which is important, so that many companies go bankrupt out of technical incompetence !!
