Hello, here is the project of self-construction of a wooden house, instead of the ruin of the old Forge de Bel Air, in the Gers (32)

Structure posts beams Douglas fir, insulation in local straw bales from the spring 2009, participatory site ... strongly spring, because we are trying to do the roofing, but it is It's raining, it's raining, windy, winter in the weather ... so it's time to hang out on the internet!

It is a very beautiful project, the asymmetry of the roof is impressive!

On the other hand, I no longer see the "stone" part that you wanted to keep at the start of the project.

Have you changed your mind? (I have not read everything in detail)

Hello
and yes, the roof descends to 1,65 m from the ground on the west wind side, it's not called "beautiful air" for nothing, we are at the top of a small hill and when it blows, it does not laugh. .. But that's also why we have a beautiful 360 ° panoramic view.

The "stone" part was finally too bad to make new on top ... we broke everything, and the stones left partly in the hedgehog and the rest to make dry stone walls ...

We also made one in "dry beer":

If not a pity you do not have this monstrous roof south side it would have made a monstrous solar potential !!!

oh yes, the fir tree
I am looking for other ideas to use empty bottles,
it's not that we are drunkards, but in the summer it's too hot, and there's a lot of people passing by ...

In project: to pass the solar preheating pipe behind the bottles, that heats serious ... for the moment the pipe is on a roof in sheet metal ....

health!

Hello,
christophe, speaking of "monstrous solar potential", it seems (?) that there are companies that rent roof surfaces to put photovoltaic panels? have you heard of it?

Uh not at all ... but what is the interest for the owner of the roof?

To rent his roof is fine but ...

Well if it's to make an "annuity" as much as the solar panels belong to you, right?

Given the size of your house I do not think that 20 000 € more in the budget is so important though?
