Lazy vegetable garden, and small bales of hay - a lazy idea.

Hello,
I just started my sloth vegetable garden, and got my hay (from the regrowth) this morning. And I got it back in SMALL BALLS.
These small balls form a parallelepiped of approximately 30 cm x 80 cm x 40 cm, composed of almost pre-cut mini balls.
And since I'm a dead lazy man, I had an idea, and I would like to know if there is a contraindication.
Basically:
1) I unpacked the bales, allowing me to obtain hay dominoes that I put side by side like lino. Each ball gives about 10 dominoes. Each domino is about 15 cm thick, ultra packed.
2) I then covered each domino with another domino cut in 2. This a priori makes it possible to cover the bottom domino well.
3) Finally, when the time comes for planting, I plan to plant BETWEEN my domino spans, which are ultra stuck for the moment but which I can easily grow.
In short, it seems super simple to me, maybe too much. Am I too lazy?
Thank you!
Gilles
