When I left my vegetable garden, it was a long time ago, there was a meadow with poor soil where thyme, trefoil, piloselle, etc.

It is located in southern Alsace, between Vosges and the Swiss Jura, facing south.
The earth is clayey, heavy and acidic and receives only hay covers, grass clippings, dead leaves, compost, a little limestone, it depends on the plots, never straw or BRF.

It's true that Chinese-style winter radishes can be big. I did not pass them this year. Sown too early and then I have not yet protected my garden from European rabbits, voles, pigeons. Cabbages, I try even more, we see them all year round.

I have beautiful leeks, the rabbits haven't touched them, but I will have to protect them from the leafminer for the next few years. the whites are quite streaked by the galleries, but I was able to recover some anyway with a little more cleaning work.

I had a lot of work this year, the garden has taken a back seat.
With the little frost, I still harvest beautiful chard leaves.

My Brussels sprouts are sheltered from snow and cold.
